A friend hired a photographer to document her birthday party in early September, and we got a few complimentary family shots (very MM!). The pictures are great and I was hoping to use them on a Christmas card, except for one thing. DD has changed SO MUCH in the almost 3 months since then. In the photos, she is tiny, scrunched up like a newborn, and has a scowling face, whereas these days she is looking like such a big girl and is smiling all the time. I feel like the photos are not at all a good representation of my beautiful baby.
WWYD? Use the pro photos even though your kid doesn't look cute? Have a more recent photo taken with a point-and-shoot camera? I'd prefer not to spend a lot of money on this, so hiring a pro is out. Other options?

We get family photos taken in the summer, so often our youngest has changed a lot by Christmas. I usually do a card with a 2 places for photos, 1 of the family from the summer and a more recent snapshot of the kids.

I would either take something recent and use that or do the pro pic with a second more recent in the card. I just wouldnt want one of my baby not looking her cutest lol. Just take something outdoors, those tend to look better.
