Just curious if you've ever hosted or participated in a clothing swap? If you have, what were the guidelines, etc?
I've thought about having one several times. With the group of girls we hang out with, there are probably 6+ of us that could wear the same sizes, especially in tops.
But....then I think I'd feel weird seeing someone else wear an old item of mine, and may make me even want the item back. Is this ridiculous or would you feel this way too?

I've never been to a clothing swap. But I did go to a really fun party where everyone brought fabulous accessories such as a piece of costume jewelry, scarf, clutch, etc. that they no longer wore. We all drew numbers and did a "White Elephant" sort of thing. It was a blast.
I had one at my house-- it was great! I didn't have any rules at all. Everyone brought what they had and took what they wanted. We had a mixture of ages, sizes, and tastes, but everyone walked away with something.

I went to one that was pretty large - hosted by some Girl's Night Out group.
They just put "like" clothes in stacks, let everyone mill around for an hour or so and then "opened" it up and you could take whatever you wanted.
I didn't like that it was all sizes mixed together, but one girl said they did that so if one person showed up in a size that no one else was they wouldn't "feel bad". Didn't make much sense to me!
I did end up with a few okay pieces, but nothing really spectacular. If I were to host my own I'd just say no tshirts and stuff. Girls showed up with like 5 racked out tshirts (like free tshirts from races and what not) and then took stacks of jeans and jewelry home.

I like the idea of an accessory swap. I don't think I have a single friend living in my area that are the same size as me, although a few might be kind of close.
I would flip on the t-shirt girl if that happened to me. Most friends aren't my size, so it'd be hard to do this, even though it sounds like it would be really fun. I would totally do a virtual swap though.
I have given clothes to my SIL who wears about the same size, or just let her borrow dresses for her school dances and stuff (she's 16). It does sometimes feel weird when I notice her wearing something that I used to own, like I think she styled it very cute and I wish I'd thought to wear it that way. But I don't ever want anything back.

There were multiple "tshirt" offenders. It was a pretty big swap - I'd say 30-40 girls.
The host didn't really "control" anything, which was fun, but there was huge pile of ugly, random tshirts stacked in a pile that you know they were going to have to haul to Goodwill after the swap was done (that's where all leftovers went).
