People in a poor rural area of the country are hurting because food stamps have been cut.

Well they tend to vote republican and republicans like to cut entitlements.

Who the hell cares how they vote where is your compassion CEP?

It matters how they vote, stop voting for people who hurt your interests.

We all have to make sacrifices when voting.

The people may have been deceived.

Its no secret part of the platform is to cut entitlements.

A lot of poor people vote Democratic, and 21% of poor people are registered to vote, this isn't their fault!!

I think there's a lot of misunderstanding. Either people being skeptical of the demographics of the town profiled in the article, or people saying, "well, when you vote for the party who says they want to cut entitlements, this is what you get," when they don't mean to be preachy, just realistic, but coming off as elitist.

Seriously, 90%+ of the posts are about whether or not the rural poor votes for their own self interest, whether or not they should, and who they think should blame for their cut in SNAP benefits.
