I think it's relevant because ACA will expand coverage, encouraging people to seek care before they are gravely ill, and also bans health insurance companies from dropping or not-approving people due to pre-existing conditions. In CA, a girl was dropped from her insurance after they "paid out too much" for her leukemia care. You can't argue people haven't died because of shady insurance company tactics. And that one argument against ACA is, "but... I might have to pay more money!" Which, I think, is questionable.

Well, it does expand Medicaid, and helps the working poor buy into exchanges. So, it's partly for poor people. NOT THAT THAT'S A BAD THING

THE ACA DOES NOT REQUIRE YOU TO "USE" THE GOVERNMENT. IT REQUIRES YOU TO USE BCBS.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that the ACA benefits NO ONE more than private insurance companies. Which is reason number 1 that I think it's a bad idea.

as for the OP - the idea that those against this or who are conservative "don't care about others" is just plain silly. And agree with what others have said.

Working poor? Everyone knows poor people do not work.
