They are doing a report about how hot is here, people needing medical attention, etc highlighting a few people.

So they show a shot of a woman sitting near a fountain in DC drinking water from a large bottle and the voiceover from the anchor or whoever says, "She waters plants for a living today Jane Smith...(dramatic pause) waters herself."

HA! I love it.

One of our friends now produces the local CBS evening news program, but he used to be a writer for the same station. He prided himself on being, as he termed it, the anchor's puppet master, and loved to see what kind of ridiculous crap he could make them say "for the sake of the story." This is totally something he would have written.
