I'm working right now trying to get a paper ready to submit for a conference. I'm also getting a second article ready to submit to a journal. And I'm trying to deal with the stupid cable company who sent our new receiver to our old address even though we just spent 3 weeks fighting with them about stuff dealing with the new address. They KNOW we moved. Grrr. The woman on the phone this morning was so compliant that I'm actually afraid nothing's going to come of what we discussed as a solution. It wouldn't be the first time we were basically told "yes" and then nothing happened. I am so sick of dealing with them, and the only reason we aren't switching is that I know none of the other providers are better.
QOTD: I am a soup lover. Favorites include homemade broccoli cheese, homemade cream of tomato, pumpkin/squash cream (not homemade because I'm not good at it), oyster stew, etc. If anyone wants any particular recipes, just ask. Today I'm making a red lentil-tomato-sausage soup that I've done before and think DD1 will like.

Hola! Not too much going on today. A little sleepy from staying up to watch American football....but otherwise ok! Work for now, and then off to teach my Zumba class this evening.
Also realizing I need to get to the store so I can pick up the ingredients I need for Thanksgiving this weekend! I'm making stuffing and green bean casserole as sides to take to a friends house. I am so, so looking forward to yummy food!
QOTD: Soup.....hmmm. I have a yummy potato soup made with tater tots, and I have a decent lentil soup recipe. Otherwise, I don't make a lot of soup recipes!
Afternoon. So far today dh went to get a new dishwasher and when he got it unwrapped my dad noticed a huge dent in the side... Grrrr! So now a new one will be delivered tomorrow. A pain to say the least... I brought the girls to the library and we've (me & dd1) just had lunch at home. A guy is coming round later to discuss a new front door. Our existing one may as well not be there in terms of heat retention!! It's mainly glass and single glazed 1960's glass at that.
QOTD: I don't really have recipes for soup. I make soup all the time but it's usually whatever veg is in the fridge! So winter veg soup is a common name but no two batches are ever the same!
And in other news, dd2 has slept through to 6am or so the last 3 mornings!! A couple of nights from a9pm feeding... What a difference 6+hrs of straight sleep make...

Hi there, It's a typical work day here. Prepping for later in the week though.
QOTD: I don't know any recipes for soups right now. I generally like a good soup from time to time. I like French onion soup. I also like borscht with a dollop of sour cream. Hmm, haven't had that in a while. In Europe, I did like all those varieties of dumpling soups. I think in German they were made with "knedle" and vegetables. They often had names like "alpine soup" or "hunter's soup". I also like soups with beans.

Went to my placement at UCL and had one student cancel on me. Bummer. Trying to do some research for my course as well and then I'll go to the gym/go running.
QOTD: I do this spicy pumpkin soup w/o the beans (because my DH doesn't like them) and the pepitas. But otherwise it's awesome!

Monday was pretty easy. I'm pet-sitting my in-laws' dog for the week while they are out of town, so it's been interesting. I've really never had a dog (I'm a cat person) so there's a learning curve and I really didn't understand about the need to go outside ALL the time! Normally we keep her on the weekends when DH is home to take care of her. But we're slowly working it out. Other than that it was my last tap class of the year and we worked on new steps! And we found out next term we'll be in the all-new custom built studio, which is exciting.
QOTD: My all-time favorites have always been my grandmother's chicken & andouille gumbo (with no okra!) and her corn soup (which was a beef-broth based soup, not the creamy ones I can find), but she took those recipes to her grave with her, so I have had to find others:
