This will sound funny, but I promise the coffee in the DD chains up north are much stronger/better than the ones here in the south. It's a huge difference, IMO.

which "home" i lived in a whole bunch of places as a kid (SF, St. L., Detroit, Philly and back to SF) there are aspects of some that i do miss
SF - none of it .. i was lucky enough to return to it at 16 and i never really left (3 years away at school doesn't count )
Detroit - the old cars, the auto show every January, Greektown, the lack of foreign made automoboiles (stbxh and i were in MI one time at a movie theater- we got there early and drive around to see how many NON US autos we could find - we found 3 Hondas and i think ONE Toyota)
Philly - the accent (i lost mine completely), WAWA, my friends from hs (ty FB!), Flyers games aired on a daily basis, all of the historical stuff, being close to literally everything (NYC, DC - 3 hrs away, Baltimore - 90 mins), Hills Quality Seafood Markets ....
