A girl (22m) in D's music class is named Emilyne Josephine. Her parents call her so many different nicknames that even I get confused (and this is just in a one hour class once a week) : Emilyne, Em, Emmy, Emma, Josie, JoJo, Joey, Jo, Emmy Jo, and so on. Like every nn they could think of. It drives me crazy! I just find it super strange and confusing- especially for the girl.

I always worried the girls wouldn't know their actual names when they were babies. But by the time they were one we usually had it down to a couple nicknames. That many is ridiculous, poor girl probably doesn't know what the hell her name is.

I worried too. It's funny that DS1 coined "Beau-by" and we all call him that, but the other day I was so shocked when he was smiling at himself in the mirror, and I asked, who's in the mirror? and he pointed to himself and said "Beau".
So I think they do get it - maybe when we talk to other people about them we use their real names? and they remember that?
I'm pretty sure I've called my kids every possible variation of their names, as well as a million other random words. There was Turkey, Turkey Timer, Turtlebear, Bucket, Turks, Sweets, and I could go on for days.
Sadie has been Sadie Lou, Lou Lou, m'Love, and a million other I don't remember.

Aw! That is too sweet. For awhile C1 always introduced herself to people as Claire Bear. It was really cute.

They both know who I'm talking to and about.
You and I have similar taste in nicknames. I currently call Butterbaby Tim Tim and Timmy. No idea why.

I do call D a mix of names too but not THAT many and not so frequent/change so much.
As an individual that has been called so many things by her family it would shock you, I always knew they were talking to me and what my name was. Promise!
As someone with a name that gets butchered on the regular, I have always answered anything that had 3 of the consonant sounds in my name. I've done this all through school.

Hahaha my kids are doomed.
But really, my dad called my sister Chockwabiggie and Judge Robert Borck and she was knew her name was Jennifer lol. At least they're variations of her actual name

This is where we're at. I wouldn't have guessed someone else calls their kid Bucket! But K frequently points to himself and says "I Kai!" Not once has he said "I Bucket!" So one way or another they figure it out.
