So, what is everyone up to today? I just walked the dog and made our smoothies. I have one counselling appointment this afternoon and have to go and read at the British Library. Then dinner at the in-laws.
QOTD: Do you have any Thanksgiving plans?
As I have no work on Thursday (boo!), I'm going to help a friend who has over-stretched herself and invited 16 people over for dinner (plus made a huge menu on top of that). Since I have a double oven and many burners, I can cook some of the food (including the turkey) over here and bring it over. I love cooking so I'll love it!
mrsukyankee can you plz come here and help out as well? I came home from the US yesterday and am all tired still and need to clean the house, get groceries and do some cooking for tomorrow's TG dinner. I have a political meeting tonight. On Friday we're leaving for Hamburg. AAAAAAH!

I just finished up the final touches on my dissertation and will be going to print it tomorrow! Depending on how long it takes to print and whether I can locate a stupid piece of paper, I may have to wait another couple of days to turn it in, but this is it!
QOTD: I'll just be making a modest Thanksgiving meal and then heading out to print off the dissertation. Come to think of it, I hadn't realized I was planning to do it on Thanksgiving. Hm. But I also don't really want to put it off another day.

Working from home while keeping the baby out of stuff. I want to have a focused few weeks of work before kicking back for the holidays. I have a lot planned for January that I want to get a big lead on now - motivation!
QOTD: We're Canadian, and I am lazy, so we didn't celebrate Thanksgiving this year. Now, if any of our American friends invited us over I would be there in a flash! Pumpkin pie sounds really good right now.
I'll play! I'm home from work today because I woke up this morning with a neck so stiff I was unable to move. I've been feeling quite burnt out lately so maybe I gave myself whiplash from being tense in my sleep?
H and I generally do neither Canadian nor American TG but we're going to a dinner this weekend. £5 each and we don't have to do any of the cooking or cleanup. TG in November still seems weird to me - I'm already in the Christmas mindset. I *may* have a slight addiction to Prêt Christmas sandwiches.
Morning! I'm lying in bed but I have been 'up' a while. Just feeding dd2. Nothing planned for today really but my SIL is going to call over at some stage. May have to collect dd1 early from crèche. Had to yesterday cos she kept getting really upset... If I have an hour or two spare I might start Christmas shopping for my friend in Oz. Want to get her kids some Irish language books - I know she'll like that.
We've a new front door ordered as of yesterday! A birthday gift from my dad! The current one has no redeeming factors inc crap thermal insulating properties! Any heat in our hall goes straight out he closed door (think 1960s, single glazed glass, thin wood, no draught excluder...)
My defense won't be until early next year and then I have to publish it before I officially get my degree, but the major work is over (well... depending on how I publish, I suppose...).
