Good morning everyone! It's Friday...thank god! What are you doing today?
QOTD: What are you most looking forward to this weekend?
I'm working all day and we have our kids/parents picnic tonight. The kids will be super cute singing to their parents the songs they have been learning all year. But it's so hot today, yesterday was miserable.
QOTD: Getting out of town, H and I are spending the weekend alone at his parent's country house in rural France. We'll bbq and hit up the local Subway (the closest ones are in France...). And our Monday morning I'm leaving for London to see my mom! Next week is only a 3 day week and then I'm off for 6 weeks (going to the US too in 9 days!).
Just have to get through today...and it will be long.

Good morning! I wish I could say it's been a good day, but it hasn't. I got a rejection letter for the job I was applying for. I wish I could at least get an interview. All I get are rejection letters. I don't even know what I am doing wrong. If I don't know what I am doing wrong, I have no idea how to fix it so I can get an interview. It's so frustrating and disheartening.
On the up note, I did get my AFP Police check back in the mail (it took 32 days, even though the quoted turnaround time was 15!) so I can send off all the documents for my Permanent Resident Visa next week. Though today, I am really not feeling it. I gave up a good job with fair to middling benefits, a cruise a year and all kinds of other fun stuff to move here and I am not feeling it was worth it today. I know it will get better, I'm just not feeling it today. You know?
QOTD: DH is going out for a Twit-Drinks party on Saturday night so I'll have the house to myself. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I know roasting a chicken and a load of towels which will be dried in the dryer!! are on the agenda. We're having our in-laws over on Sunday and I'm making a roast chicken soup and challah, which apparently doesn't exist in the tiny insular town I live in. Challah will be yet another thing my in-laws will now think is strange and American.
Long day yesterday stuck at Aberdeen airport in yucky weather (nothing came in or flew out for about five or six hours)....but finally made it home at about 11pm.
QOTD: An American friend of mine is hosting a "4th of July" bbq at his house on Saturday, and a lot of our British friends are coming. it should be fun:-) Hubby flies home to Florida on Tuesday for his uncle's funeral.....and next week I go to Gibraltar for two weeks!

W didn't sleep well last night, so that was fun.
QOTD: Tomorrow my H has to do a required Red Cross course, which is the last thing he has to do before taking the written driver's license test and then he will have a license and we can get a car! I'm excited.
Morning. I've been really tired all week and not sleeping well, having very strange vivid dreams... so I'm glad today is Friday! Just work today. DH has N for the day and is going to bring her for her final vaccination (well, until her boosters when she starts school!).
QOTD: Tomorrow we are supposed to be going to a friend's surprise 40th birthday party, but we have no sitter yet!!! Grrr.... and as it is dh's friend as opposed to mine, guess who would have to stay in (again!!). We have to get passport photos for N, which will be a challenge! Should have done it when she was not moving!! Not sure what else we are going to do...
Both kids slept in a little bit this morning, which was nice. It's going to be hot again today, so we are meeting friends at the pool this afternoon. DH is coming home today, and it's his last day in the army for this year.
QOTD: We don't have big plans for the weekend, but I'm looking forward to having DH home, and knowing that he doesn't have to leave again on Sunday or MOnday. Before his 3 weeks in the army he was working out of town for 5 weeks, so it will be nice to have him home for a while.
We're leaving for Biarritz & the Basque Country tomorrow. Woo-hoo! In the meantime, I am going through my packing check list, printing boarding passes, emailing editors in the U.S. to follow up outstanding projects, etc. Oh, and I need to run out and get DD's teachers some presents because today is the last day of school.
QOTD: Vacation!!!!! And the official start of summer. Since DD won't be at summer camp, this is pretty much my last real day of "work," with the exception of a short work trip in mid-July.
It's a cold, rainy day at the office today. We had two days of sunny weather this week, and it seems like that's over. I'm getting really tired of wearing long sleeves and a coat when it's supposed to be summer!
QOTD: Euro 2012 final on Sunday! I wore my Italia shirt to the game last night even though it was swarming with Germany fans. I didn't really think they'd win, so it was kind of a surprise! And after the first sloppy 10 minutes, I was very impressed with how well they played.
It is so hot here. The heat index got to 110F here yesterday. It was a dry heat up until it sprinkled for 2 minutes. Then it was crazy humid and I couldn't breathe. I'll be retreating to our a/c bedroom for most of today and weekend. I'm having crazy period cramps and headaches so the heat makes me more miserable.
My plan is to go to CVS for prescriptions. Organize my external hard drive and get stuff off H's computer since my new laptop is arriving July 2! Woot! I want to make some 4th of July sugar cookies but that might be a Saturday.
QOTD: H works on Saturday. I will relax at home. Maybe walk to get frozen yogurt. Sunday... I have no idea. We haven't talked about what we will do. I monopolized his day off Wednesday with the mall and my laptop order. So probably a relax day together. Maybe a movie at the theater to cool down. Monday I'm driving north to spend some time with my mom who has off the 2-4th.

Gilli, this is me crying because you supported Italy - :-(
QOTD: My BFF is coming into town for a week starting this afternoon. Of course she's got tons of people to see and her family doesn't want to give her up for a second (she usually lives in Seattle), but her baby shower is tomorrow and then we've set aside at least two other times to see her while she's back. So I'm excited for that! And of course we'll be watching the Euro 2012 consolation game and the final on Sat/Sun, and cheering for Germany and probably Spain, respectively. I'll be cheering for Spain, anyway. I don't know who DH will choose. Both teams have beaten Germany in semi-finals/finals in the very recent years, so he kind of wants revenge on both.
BFP1: DD born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP
BFP2: 3/18/12, blighted ovum, natural m/c @ 7w4d
BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w3d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence

Kelly, no "consolation game" for you to watch, I'm afraid... this competition doesn't have one!
I wanted Germany to win last night too - if only because my department had Germany in the company competition!! Winning department gets €100... for losing semi-final we'll get €25 between 9 of us!!
