H informed me yesterday that my BIL and SIL want to go in together to get Owen a LeapPad for Christmas.
My gut reaction is "um, no?" but H is all "well, he loves to play with our phones". And apparently SIL can get $40.
I feel like this is a way better gift for next Christmas than this one. I don't think this is really the kind of toy that I want my kid playing with all the time right now, and I don't think he'd be all that into. Maybe for a few minutes?
What do probies have to say? I feel like H doesn't really care what my opinion is, because he thinks it's neat.
Am I being silly to say no? I mean, I don't have to give it to Owen now, we could always just hang on to it until I think he's ready?

DS1 had one before he got his Kindle Fire. We let LO play with it from time to time, he doesn't really know what he's doing. He works the Kindle and the iPad better.
I did see a Sesame Street game at Toys R Us, maybe you can try that first? Otherwise, just put it up til later. I don't like to tell people not to buy what they want. I'm pretty leniant though.

We bought one for both girls, although Kate's isn't the same model as the one we bought for Ella. She always wants to do what her big sister is doing, so we figured we'd avoid any jealousy by buying her one.
I would let them get it. J plays apps on my phone all the time pretty successfully. It's not the same, but he could surprise you. Plus you could always put it up until you think he's ready.
