I took my first spin class today. Cardio and leg muscle-wise, it wasn't too bad. But, my seat bones and girly bits feel so bruised. 20 minutes into the class I almost walked out, the pain was so bad. I figured out that if I stood up on the pedals for the test, I could do it.
It still hurts to sit though. Is that ever going to stop? Or are my pelvic bones deformed or something? I feel like everyone else was cruising along with no trouble. Wtf? I want to give the class Another try, but not if it feels like this again
Make sure your pelvis is rocked back so you're sitting on your pelvic "sits" bones and not your lady parts. Also, you'll hear a lot of "you'll get used to it" and maybe you will, but a pair of cycle shorts is a beautiful thing.

It really is a matter of getting used to it. My ass/ girl parts ached after the first class and after three it stopped. I've never used the padded shorts,( the basic spin bike saddle actually fits me really well )but they can be a lifesaver if it doesn't.
