She LOVES cheese. Mice do not love cheese as much as her. She also has ice cream and butter without a problem. But I've been adding milk to start the transition, and it gives her diarrhea (see free birth control post) and a bad rash. I stopped it and it quit. I got some lactaid.

I grew up with lactose intolerance--my mom had these Lactaid drops tht she would add to the gallon of milk. I'm not sure if they make these anymore (it was in the '80s). We also found that my sister and I could tolerate 1/2% or skim much better than any of the higher milk fats.
The Lactaid pills do work! Mom would send me to school with those so I could get chocolate milk with my lunch
My kid gets sick if she drinks too much milk but can eat as much cheese & ice cream as she wants and is fine. I had to tell her to lay off drinking so much milk or it is back to the lactose free milk for her.

Ethan was the same way. He had and has no problem with cheese/yogurt/ice cream etc, but started having horrible diapers when I was transitioning him from BM to regular milk. By the time I figured out what was causing it, he was having upwards of 8 nasty diapers a day. Switching him to soy fixed it almost immediately.
