Then I can use words like jumper instead of sweater, chips instead of french fries and crisps instead of potato chips. And of course it's the land of Doctor Who.
The chips/crisps/fries thing gets terribly confusing. Because no one knows which version you're using. "She said 'chips' with an American accent. She must mean crisps." "No! I wanted fries! Gah!"
I tend to stick to "crisps" and "fries" so that I can avoid the "chips" confusion altogether.
