like if people didn't hurt other people.
I don't know why I've been thinking about this a lot lately, but I have been.
The thought came back when reading the murder thread. It's crazy how many people here know someone personally who has been murdered. And then all the shootings in Chicago lately.
It's not even that hard. Just don't hurt other people. This goes for countries hurting other people in other countries too. Is it really that hard to just not blow people up?

I think we have to teach people how to deal with grief. I think a lot of it is that it's already a cycle - you hurt me, I hurt you - and no one wants to stop it. If we learned how to grieve without retribution, we'd all be a lot better off.
eta: I think that's just one part of the puzzle, but I think it's a rather large one.

Crime has gone up ridiculously where I am in the past two years. We went from random fights, to stabbings and shootings every week resulting in death. It’s absurd. In a 2 week span there were I think 14 shootings and stabbings, and half resulted in death. That’s scary to me. Not all of these are happening in really bad areas either, some of them are just in regular downtown. But, supposedly they are attributing it to the Boston gangs coming down here and fights starting up. No matter what it is, it’s scary shit.
