It was fine. My ILs have been in townfor the week - so it was just the 6 of us. We ditched the 5k in the AM since MIL can't be out in the cold. L and I went to the grocery store on Thanksgiving morning at 6:45 - it was delightful. We drank hot drinks and strolled around sans kids. Everyone was in a great mood and the store was completely stocked (there were several things we couldn't find at teh other store on Wedsnesday night.) We had bought most of the meal and then fixed some fresh veggies to go along with it. I was bummed that L made up the crockpot turkey breast recipe vs doing the one I e-mailed her that we've done before and both loved (used wine and butter) vs her rendition with chicken stock and Mrs. Dash (damn healthy eating.) It was fine..but not as good as the recipe. The brussel sprouts with pecans and cranberries were a bust. Too tart...but they were pretty! I do love me some honey baked ham.
On Friday, I ran into Wal-Mart alone to see if they had the Skylanders the kids wanted (ILs were buying them an early gift.) The regular part of the store was fine and they had employees in yellow vests every 10 feet. But the electronics dept? Holy crap. They didn't have it and I beelined out of there. We went to Toys R Us and they were limiting the number of people in the store at one time. I waited about 3m, got it, found what I was looking for, summoned the kids in to pick out their Skylanders, stood in line for 10m, and was out of there in 30m (including the kids hemming and hawing over what they wanted.) Not bad at all to save $60.
Friday morning I dropped by GameStop and got Just Dance 2014 for $15 (normally $40.) I was the only person in the store. I also went into Kohls en route to work. I didn't find anything exciting and it wasn't crowded at all.
I've been perusing online today looking for Cyber Monday deals. I did get L some workout gear for 25% off. And I did get a good idea for a gift that she will love, I just need to get her out of the house so I can go through her old pictures to get one I need.

E was with her dad from Wednesday night through the weekend, so I'm very much looking forward to picking up my little girl today!
Dinner at my brother/SILs was good, my SILs parents are nice and kind of boisterous, much different from my parents who I'm sure were shocked at some of the goings on there. Friday I had to work which sucked because I would have rather slept in, but it was a quiet day. After I got home from work, A and I went to dinner with my parents and tried to keep away from politics.
Saturday morning my parents left for home. A and I had a long talk that I'd been putting off about the goings on with E's dad and his sister over the past week. It was a big weight off my shoulders and we both cried at some point. I think A can now see better the situation for what it is and how much I need her help in encouraging E because of the sense I get of how things are for her at her dad's. That night she took me to a late birthday dinner at our favorite local steakhouse.
Sunday we slept in and then A continued to work on unpacking while I helped with some organizing and did laundry. Later we got dinner and groceries and spent some time just being together.
I did not do any shopping and work is so busy I'm not sure I'll have time to get online today like I'd hoped I could.
