If you like vodka and christmas, make this

Take a clean jar. Throw in a few cinnamon sticks, some cloves (whole), allspice (whole), a few slices of fresh ginger, and a whole nutmeg (clove? nut? what are they called?). Pour in vodka. Let it sit in your fridge for a week. Strain out the spices. Mix with simple syrup (one part water to one part sugar, heated until dissolved then cooled), club soda, and ice. Enjoy. Xmas in a glass! With alcohol!

that sounds really good! h is making homemade vanilla extract right now. he got a crapton of vanilla beans from costco and a bottle of bourbon, it's sitting on our shelf now and "vanillaing"....
