Happy birthday! Are you doing anything (even something small) to celebrate?!
I took a vacation day! Probably cleaning up and maybe a quick target trip.
We are going to a restaurant tonight. I asked to go to this new to us place - BIL took H there Friday afternoon and they seemed to like it! They had fried pepperoni appetizers and it the place seems to have a lot of gourmet grilled cheese on their menu. Lol.
There is this Cleveland area chain (like 3 or 4 locations) called Melt that is all awfully unhealthy but delicious grilled cheese but its always a ridiculously long wait and whatnot, so this new place sounds similar but less crazy - shouldn't be so bad to get in and it's really close!
Yay, sounds like a great day/night! This is random but I actually lived in Cleveland for a few years back when Melt first opened, the one in Lakewood...it was OMG delicious. I hope your dinner is amazing!

Cool! There are Melt's in independence, shaker, and mentor now too! We have to go at an off time because they are always packed! I've only been two or three times just because its out of our way and H isn't crazy about it.
What were you doing in Cleveland? School?
We moved there for my H's job. I think we lived there from 2004-2007...at which point he went to grad school so we moved again. People crap on Cleveland but I actually really liked living there (weather aside). Surprisingly excellent restaurants, great COL, friendly people, awesome accessibility to trails for hiking/running/etc, easy to travel to other cities (although this was back before the Continental/United merger, not sure if it's still that way).
It is a pretty nice town, they are really working to revitalize the city. We have some really great restaurants in the last few years, probably largely due to Michael Symon working his magic. Now, if only our sports teams could get their shit together it would be perfect!
Oh yeah...I still pull for all the Cleveland sports teams! Y'all deserve a BIG break one of these years. Lack of championship rings/trophies aside, I did always love how the city was set up for going to sporting events...I worked downtown and we used to go to Indians and Cavs games all the time, it was so easy and fun to get dinner or drinks before or after in the area and I loved how much fun the downtown bars were on game days. CLE has great fans.
