Would you try to avoid it? Planning on London, Amsterdam and Paris over 2 weeks. Haven't booked flight but have apt in Paris Sept 12-16. Was planning on our trip starting in London on Sept 4, ending in Paris. Para Olympics end Sept 9. Would you rearrange itinerary to avoid London during that time?
I can't tell you what London will be like during the Para Olympics but when the Olympics were in Atlanta the para Olympics weren't nearly as busy, crowded or held peoples interest like the Olympics did. I think by the time they happened everyone was so tired of the Olympics we stayed away.
So that being said I would probably visit London. It would still be neat to see all the stuff they have been building for the games and if you can score some tickets to a para olympic event do. I saw the medal game for Volleyball and was really amazed.

Getting around will still be a bit crazy though the locations of events is a bit different. But I think the atmosphere will be quite cool and not as hectic as during the Olympics. I'd still come if you can find a decent hotel room (might still be tough and more expensive than normal).
I'd actually try to rearrange to attend some paralympic events if you can. I had the opportunity to go to the Opening Ceremonies, basketball and swimming when the games were in Atlanta and it was absolutely incredible. Tickets should be relatively easy to get and if you go I'm sure you will love it.
