"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
I think I would like to work at a local book store. Now that I see how little I need to make for us to make it work, this is actually a viable option. The only thing I would miss out on is benefits.
Other than that - I wouldn't mind doing something where I'm not forever bringing my work home with me. I did not like that about teaching.
It depends on how much you need /year to "Pay the bills" and if you have any wiggle room in their. If you are completely and utterly unhappy (and I think you are if I remember right) then it might take a life style cut but I think there are plenty of entry level jobs out there, or pick up a paper route or a part time job as well.
I might change job to a personal assistant at the end of the year if the compensation is right.
Check Craigslist, tons of small companys post jobs there and don't have as strict of requirements as large companies and the benefits are sometimes better.
Me? I would probably manage a restaurant....or waitress full time. Its the only other thing I'm qualified to do.
You share my pain, I think.
A dog washer might be fun. But there's only one dog groomer in these parts.
I'm even considering babysitting. Which I would not be good at. Or working in a daycare. But I would have to quit the board.
Sorry I mean if I wasn't lawyering, I would waitress. Also, I love waitressing. if you decide to go that route send me a PM or something and I'm happy to help. DH is a wine consultant and he is one of the only people who actually knows about wine. Its a sales job.
Entry level. No special skills or training. Something that would pay the bills.
I need ideas.
Waitressing, All you have to do is be friendly. They train you there. I waited tables at the same place for 10 years through high school, college, and after i started my real job. I really loved it there.
I write web content for a living. I never went to university

Oh, maybe I would like this job.
He has to drive a lot and deal with stupid people, but he also gets to meet some really awesome winemakers, hang out with cool restaurants, try a ton of wine, and usually brings home at least one half bottle of wine a day (he has samples for people to try, when they don't finish he brings them home). We also get all of our wine at cost which is like 70% below retail.
One of the thing that pisses me off most about the recession is the real estate dive. I was freaking born to be a Realtor and I'd choose that first I think. One of my favorite non-professional jobs was at an independent coffee house. I try selling wedding dresses, but I'd probably get fired for trying them all on.
