Good luck. I had a huge nodule on my thyroid about 15 years ago. The surgery to remove the lobe was super easy if it does come to that. Mine ended up being cancerous (though they couldn't actually detect it until it was out), and you're right, it was no big deal. I had zero treatment for the cancer - just removing it was enough.
Good luck. Two of my close friend have had Thyroid cancer and had the treatments and all is fine now. Both are completely in remission. As long as you keep up on your check ups, even if it does turn to cancer, you have a great chance at kicking its ass

one of my closest friends just went through this last winter with her brother...then 6 months later it was HER! Clearly genetic. But she's a guru on all things thyroid now and they both beat it. The best thing you can do is monitor your cyst and go to your checkups, so that's great that you're going.

You'll be ok! Lots and lots of hair pets. My sister had a total thyroidectomy for cancer a few years ago and she's fine. You're right, it's very treatable and there's no chemo or radiation involved. She just had a radioactive iodine treatment and had to keep herself quarantined for a few days. Because she was, well, radioactive!
