We bought this shed, it's a standard 12x32 - so it can be delivered on a 5th wheel trailer. When we were picking it out and picking out colors, the guy asked us if they had to go over any lawn. We said yes. We also forked over $300+ for stone/equipment to level the dirt, put the stone down, and level the stone. The shed is $4k+.
They told us it would be delivered before Thanksgiving. Two days before the 28th he calls and says "my truck broke, your shed is done but I can maybe deliver it next week. I don't deliver in bad weather" We said ok. It's now Friday, so we ran up to the place and spoke with the man who handled our order. He said "Oh! Your shed has been done and we just got the truck fixed. I don't deliver in bad weather, so I didn't want to bring it out today but I will set up a time next week. It's supposed to be bad weather Mon/Tues, how about Wed-Fri?" We said ok.
The dude calls us at 4pm and says "I am on my way! The shed is loaded up and on the road now." Uh..ok. It's been POURING since early this morning, the ground is soaked. They have it loaded up, on the road, and told us/informed us we should be at home waiting.
So the guy gets here (not the one who handled the order but their delivery guy) and he proceeds to tear the ever loving shit out of our yard. Deep ruts, everywhere. He keeps trying and trying, gets it up onto the stone and digs deep ruts into the stone. About 20 into it, my husband and I knew it wasn't happening but my husband kept asking him "what do you need? what can I help with?" Since we figured they would charge us to redeliver and the guy told us "I had to deliver it, it was in my way"
The guy then proceeds to pretty much drive half into the tree, which is now ripping shingles off the roof of the shed. I told my husband that I'm not paying for this. THEN the guy gets out, unstraps the shed, and keeps trying. He is sliding sideways, the shed is tilting. I thought for sure he was going to knock it over.
Finally, after an hour, he gets out and says "I don't know what to do, my power steering went out a few minutes after I arrived." OMFG.
I asked him if we are going to be charged for re-delivery. He said no. I told him to take the shed back, fix the shingles, that I'm pissed off about the ruts in our yard, and that the man told us - several times - that he does not deliver in crappy weather. I'm like "clearly you can tell it has been raining all day". So he agrees but busts out with "can I drop the shed here, anywhere? We will come back and deal with it when it isn't raining, when the ground freezes" I said NO. And he gives us a story about how he cannot be an oversized load past dusk. Too fucking bad. My husband helped him strap it back down and sent him on his way.
I tried calling the place but they closed at 5. I am calling them tomorrow morning because they need to fix our yard before it freezes and the ruts stay, they need to come re-level our stone, they need to fix our shed, and they need to get some better business practices because this is fucking ridiculous.
OMG I would be so pissed I wouldn't be able to control it.
I am a giant weenie in real life and don't like confrontation but FOUR thousand dollars for them to come rip the shit out of our yard, ruin the stone we laid, and rip shingles off the shed? I can get over being a weenie and say something for that.
Also, did you put it on a credit card that you have any coverage from that side? And are there any protections they can help you with as far as the additional damage to your home?
I would be FURIOUS. Get some pictures, if you haven't already.
I will tomorrow morning. It was dark and pouring harder by the time he left. He kept telling my husband "we will fix this before we come out again". But I am going to take pictures tomorrow morning and haul our asses down to his office. Right now I'm too angry to call him tomorrow. I want to see him face to face.
I double checked with my husband;
Me: Did he ask you if he could deliver? Him: No, he told me he was loaded up and on his way Me: Didn't he tell us several times today that he would call to set up a time? Him Yup

There's no other damage to our home beyond our yard. The shingles are from the shed. We were going to pay in installments, bigger than monthly, but not all at once. So far they have a deposit of $500+ from us.
