Yes, sorry about that, we discussed you in the OT and the details are a bit vague in this spin off. We wanted to do a group project. Out of those who volunteered to be a "boots on the ground" representative, we selected Kids Hurt Too. Through this organization, we have adopted 24 children, each have two to three wishes (gifts). We are collecting monetary donations to purchase the larger ticket items and people are able to purchase wishes directly from the amazon.com wish list set up by sushi.

This all started because we were talking about what were good gift ideas for older children on angel trees. That spun off into, instead of doing the annual secret santa exchange, let's do something philanthropic instead. So here we are working our way through this process.

Next year, we'll be better organized. This is a learning year.

y4m - are you a global mod? What do you think about doing a sticky post that will show up on all the boards? Something that gives a brief explanation and then provides links to the amazon wish list and explains how to make monetary donations? We could also provide links to the OTs.

I bought some things off the list (I assume the wishlist auto updates to remove them). A couple problems:

Are you referring to the excel or Amazon? I show it as all 3 are purchased on amazon, so it shouldn't be showing up on the wanted list. If you mean excel, I haven't updated the original request list yet.

I haven't read thru all thru all the responses but I have a remote control helicopter that I was going to mail to a random hospital but I'd be happy to donate to the child in the list. I already have it and can mail it. Its slightly different than the one in the Amazon list if that is okay.

I think that would be ok. sushi was picking items since most requests weren't specific.

Amazon updates as items are purchased

I got the first package yesterday. My ups driver was all confused because it was addressed to sushi

Every time I go to the amazon page and see the note next to the iPad, I wish I had some gold to sell. 

That 16yo is either a mom, or raising a younger sibling ... either way, I want to get her a damn iPad. Ugh.
