BF and I both are. We use Lactaid before eating dairy and it helps most of the time. Every now and then it wont work but more often than not we don't have problems. I rarely drink milk anyway but sometimes want ice cream and it got to where it was making me sick for days after eating it. I was so relieved to have good results with Lactaid.
I'm lactose intolerant. I can't have anything that has dairy in it or I'll get hella bloated, have insane gas and sometimes have to run to the bathroom with crazy diarrhea.
I drink soy milk, bake with it, eat lactose free ice cream or sorbet, I rarely eat other peoples baked goods just because sometimes it causes a reaction.
I think @gretchennest has either a dairy allergy or is lactose intolerant..I can't remember
Do soy milk and non-lactose taste similar to cow milk?
Soy milk IMO is an acquired taste. It almost tastes a little nutty like almond milk but lactose free milk (according to my dad) tastes like regular milk (he REFUSES to try soy milk).
I developed it in my late 20's and now I drink nothing but Almond milk. No cheese, no yogurt and lactose free ice cream. I've adjusted to it and feel so much better without the bloating. Sometimes though I crave cheese pizza. I just take a lactaid and hope for the best.
Milk and ice cream are the worst. Cheese is still okay as long as I don't go overboard. Yogurt seems to be just fine (I guess because of the cultures).
I've replaced milk with soy milk on things like cereal. Not all soy milks are created equal. I prefer the unflavored/unsweetened kind (i.e.: not vanilla flavored). My favorite is Alpro Light Soy Milk, but I don't think this is sold in the US. I also get my lattes made with soy milk. It pisses me off when coffee shops don't have soy milkā¦. I'm still okay with using regular milk in cooking as long as it's really cooked (like cake or pancakes or whatever), but creamy soups are pretty much out.
I can still do ice cream as long as it's only a little bit (like 1/4 cup) and I haven't had a lot of other dairy. It sucks, but it does keep me from going overboard on ice cream, so I guess that's a good thing.
Personally, I don't like lactose-free stuff. It skeeves me out.
Not officially, but I don't do dairy very well. I can do small amounts with just a little bit of bloating, but if I want to not shit my pants and eat a significant amount, I have to do Lactaid.
I think I've always been somewhat intolerant but it took me to adulthood to realize my triggers.
My SO is lactose intolerant. We buy lactose free milk and yogurt, I don't notice a difference in taste. He takes lactaid before eating ice cream, pizza, etc. Parmesan and Pecorino cheese are ok for him because they're dry cheeses.

Late to the party but had something to add.
I seem to do ok with very limited amounts of lactose free dairy when my health is good, (When its not, forget it) but I generally avoid as I know its not my friend.
I don't like soy, so I opt for almond milk or coconut milk which I love, they make ice cream from this too. I do miss yogurt though. Have not tried coconut yogurt as I've been told its horrific.
Daiya cheese is also a reasonably good substitute for cheese. Its not something I would eat alone the way I used to do with regular cheese but good in things when you need it as an ingredient.
