We haven't put up our tree, let alone any Christmas decorations. I also haven't done any Christmas shopping. IL are coming for Christmas. I feel like such a slacker!
Are you originally from here? I'm from northern NY and it's so hard to get in the Christmas spirit here, even after 13 years. We put our tree up last night. Then our 2 year old for into it so we decided to quit putting the decorations on it besides the few on the top. A very lame tree this year it is. Hoping we will be able to get lights in the house by Christmas Eve but prognosis not looking good.

I am only half way done. Its hard with a toddler, she wants to play with everything. I just put Santa out on our entertainment center and she just came running into the office with him saying "Mommy!!! Its SANTA!" haha
On a side note....DH's company over paid him in July for his vacation pay. He reported it to his boss and his boss's boss immediately, but they waited until CHRISTMAS to deduct it from his paycheck. Its really put a stop to my decorations budget I was in the process of switching to LED. Boo.
Sara - Last year I put the non breakables at the bottom and wrapped the branches around each hanger, the benefits of an artificial..eventually she gave up. This year she was so excited to help DH put the star at the top.

Pretty much... we moved to FL when I was 5. My husband is from NY (Brooklyn), but I agree.... I wish it were a tad bit cold so we can feel a little spirity. I normally don't mind the weather too much, but at least some sweater weather would be nice!

I feel like a terrible mom.... We planned to put it up this weekend, but we also were having a new fridge delivered, supposed to have been on Saturday. Well, Lowe's botched that up and delivered it on Sunday. We've also been working on flipping a house and we need to take our old fridge there, so the new fridge is in our living room waiting to be transferred to the kitchen. It's in the way and no way can we get the tree up and move all of this around. DSS begged to put it up, but we had to tell him to wait another week when he comes back again.
We have out tree up, and the lights are up. No decorations as such yet. We'll see how it goes. The Geese are 2.5, so...not sure how it will go this year. We went artificial last year, so that's what we are using this year.
The girls recognize Santa, but I think our decision is to not "do" Santa.
DH just put up the tree today. It's not decorated yet & I barely bought any Christmas presents. We're having a party here on Saturday so I need to get moving.
