So this is only marginally H&F related at best, but that's ok right? I am seriously thinking about a major hair chop. My H is on board and prefers shorter hair, and I live pictures and other people with short hair... But I'm scared! If you cut yours short, do you love it? Miss it? How often do you have to cut it to keep it looking good? The H&F part: does it drive you nuts not being able to pull it back during workouts?
Here's the cut I love, and a pic of me. Opinions?? Will it look good or ridiculous?
For me - I only have one request when getting my hair cut. It has to be able to go into a ponytail. If that isn't a big deal to you, then do it! I think it will be a cute cut!
I've had my hair every length possible. When it was a pixie cut it was so much harder to style. It's also a bitch to grow out. That being said, the picture is cute so if you really want to do it, go for it. It does grow back

I just cut my a bit longer than the picture and I've been enjoying it so far. The only issue is that you don't have much leeway on bad hair days, can't just toss it back in a ponytail. And my neck has been a bit cold when I run. I kept the front long enough to pull back in a barrette or tuck behind my ear and it works great, stays out of my face but no wispy fringes or heavy ponytail. I like not having to pull it back to run but occasionally the wind makes a mess of everything lol.
The cut in the picture is adorable but it does look pretty high maintenance to me. Like, you'd have to get it trimmed often to maintain the right length, and use appropriate styling products daily. But I think with your face shape and bone structure you could totally rock a cut like that, if you're up for the challenge!
I think that cut would look super-cute on you! I had short(er) hair a while back and I either wore a headband or hat to keep my hair from out of my eyes. If it is a bit longer on top you could just pull the front part away from your face too.
Ahhh thanks for weighing in everyone! I really want to do it as soon as I get some guts. I keep using the excuse that you need perfect skin to pull it off, and winter has been wreaking havoc on mine. Really, I'm just nervous because pixies done right are super cute, but pixies done wrong look like the hair equivalent of "mom jeans". I think I will take the pic to my stylist next time and see what she thinks.
I think it would look good on you, but, as someone who is a year deep into growing out from nothing, I agree with others who have mentioned that the grow out phase sucks. There have definitely been weeks long periods when my hair looked super awkward no matter what I did with it. I guess there have also been weeks long periods when the grow out phase wasn't so bad, but I don't tend to remember them as much.

I was forced into shorter hair by a horrible hair dresser who did a total hack job on my hair. I'm currently trying to grow it back out, and it has a total mom jeans feel to it. I hate it every day.
BUT, you're right, if done correctly, (and on purpose) it can look awesome. I don't have the balls to cut it so so so short, it was short enough and i was miserable.
I had that same picture pinned when I was looking to chop off all my hair! I went from mid back to pixie about 7 months ago and I love it. I've had really short hair before so it wasn't a total shock to my system I love the ease of getting ready in the mornings and for me, I feel like my hair is always "done and styled" rather than just getting tucked behind my ears. For working out I usually throw on a baseball cap or if my hair doesn't look like complete bed head in the mornings, I'll just pin my bangs back.

I cut my hair back in the spring so that it was slightly longer in the front than that. It took a couple trips to my stylist to really get it "right", but I did love it. I'd either use a bobby pin (when first cut), or bondi bands/ sweatybands to keep it out of my face when working out. Unfortunately, I miss pony tails tremendously, so I'm in the process of growing it back out. Right now, I'm at the "mom jeans" phase, but trying to stick it out. I figure I know it will look good on me, so if I ever want to go back, it won't be too hard.
It took me a while to get to the point of cutting it all off. Since I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, I just had her cut it a bit shorter each time. It was much easier when I found a picture so I could get her opinion on if it would work before taking the plunge. Thankfully, I've been going to her forever, so I trust her opinion completely.
