I am enjoying my day off (I love when the Federal Govt in DC closes because then I don't have to go to work even though I work for a law firm) but I would love to be in Turks and Caicos right now. I've never been but I've wanted to go for so long and my brother went there for his honeymoon and his pictures were amazing! H and I went to Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica 2 years ago and it was pretty amazing there too.

random: kinda pissed because i have the day off for snow, and H could work from home since he has his laptop but instead the lug is going to drive into work in the 4 inches of snow that is falling. I'm not happy with this - instead of him staying safe and working from home he's going into the office when it's totally unnecessary. now i'm just going to worry about him all day.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere tropical! Much prefer curled up on the couch with a blanket and a fire and a beautiful blanket of snow in our yard I'm a weirdo.
But otherwise, today is my last day at work! I decided to take the rest of the week off using my last vacation days!
This! Today will be the perfect day to wrap a few presents and write my shower thank yous. It's so gorgeous!! I'm hoping DH will agree to decorate the Christmas tree today (he likes to keep it just lights for a while).
But if I had to pick a tropical place, I would say Key West. DH and I absolutely loved it there. Second choice would be Hawaii to visit my brothers. I wish they could see the bump in person but I'm glad they'll see "the spud" this summer.
shelbyann we honeymooned in Barbados & St. Lucia. Where did you stay in St. Lucia?

We stayed at Ti Kaye Village. It was awesome. And that place is a pregnant-lady magnet apparently...there are only about 30 rooms total there and we saw at least five other "baby mooning" couples.

Ugh, booo on your H! Does he at least work close to home?
I love the snow as long as I don't have to go anywhere, which, luckily today I do not. But, I could also probably be OK anywhere tropical. DH and I went to Cozumel for our honeymoon and loved it. Anywhere where I can see through the water makes me a happy girl.

I am okay with the snow because I am inside by the fire right now, but as soon as I get outside I will wish I was somewhere tropical. I would love to go to Bora Bora, Costa Rica, and Maldives. I think I need to make sure that I am giving myself breaks at work or cut down to 6 hours instead of 8. I am on my feet all day and my back has been killing me. I was in tears last night because it hurt so bad.

On a normal day, it's about a 20-30 minute commute. who knows with the snow - although I'm hoping with the fed govt closure a lot of people won't be on the roads. we have a reliable snow car - subaru outback - i just hate him being out there when he didn't have to be.
I was in Cancun over the weekend for a childhood friend's wedding. It was 85 and sunny, and we had a fantastic time. Now back to the crappy rain in Atlanta (8 straight days and counting).
On a side note, I grew up in New England and am totally missing snow right now.

Not tropical, but I was just thinking fondly of our trip to Disney World last year, and how I could really use some fun right now. We weren't sure if it would be fun for adults but we both really enjoyed it, and I'd like to go back again and do universal.
I am a mess this morning. I had an awful, emotional day yesterday, and I couldn't sleep most of the night because I was in so much pain. I feel gross and terrible this morning.
I would like to be in Maui, Hawaii (where we honeymooned). Right now we are getting another snow storm and DH is at work 35mins away. I get super worried because our cars don't do well in the snow and he'd have to drive home & pick me up then drive another 40 mins to the hospital if I went into labor. I also slept crappy last night - I kept worrying about labor and then when I did sleep I just had bad dreams (not baby related).
We were just in St. Lucia for Thanksgiving break. I would like to go back. Even though it rained the whole time we were there!
I loooove st.lucia and would go back. We were there a couple of years ago and stayed at a b&b on the east coast. I was trying to convince my husband to buy a house there & we could open our own b&b. he didn't to for it..

I completely understand. DH is currently working from home today, while I have off. And he said that he probably could have made it in if he didn't have a rental car. I just stared him down. I'm glad your H has a good car, and hopefully his commutes will be short and uneventful. But, you still have my permission to give him an earful tonight!

I actually love the snow too, so I'm ok with it even though I am freezing.
If I could be anywhere warm though it would be Lake MI in the summer on a sunny hot day. I love our freshwater beaches! I also really loved Siesta Key when we visited there a couple years ago, so I'd pick that too
Yeah, I would definitely take snow over the crappy, gray, 45-and-raining we have in ATL.
Also, damn these hormones. Last night, H and I were laying in bed watching TV. He made a move that made me think he was going to put his arm around me and snuggle, but he was just adjusting. I burst into tears because...I wanted to snuggle? I have no effing idea. Poor guy was so baffled and felt horrible that he'd done something to hurt or offend me, and then I started half-crying, half-laughing-hysterically because the whole thing was just so ridiculous. Pregnancy is weird!

I am like this ^o) to all you snow lovers. I've lived in Florida my entire life, and I can't imagine having to deal with all that snow. Nope. I don't want it to be 80 for the entire month of December, but I also don't want to have to dig my car out from piles of snow, worry about sliding off the road, have to wear 600 layers and still be cold. No, No, i'll take hurricane season, and scorching hot summers before I deal with all that.
I've been in snow maybe 5 times in my life; Twice when I was a kid, and 3 times since I've been old enough to appreciate that living in that kind of climate would not be for me.

If I could choose, I would only want snow in December so that it's here during Christmas. Otherwise take away the cold weather and snow anytime! It would be really weird to me to not have snow during Christmas time.

I hate being the extreme of either temperature, but I'd choose being cold over being hot because when I'm hot I just feel so gross and dirty...we were in Vegas in July and it was like 120 degrees and I wanted to DIE. It was seriously awful. So whenever I'm cold now, I think of how I felt then and I'm good again lol.
Plus I HATE humidity more than words can express, and I would take piles and piles of snow over that any day (we get a lot of humid days in the summer here, which is why I think I like the winters so much). If we had dry heat in the summer all the time that might be a different story though.

Oh, Florida for sure has it's downfalls, the humidity is a big one.. I tend to forget about the humidity until I want to run or do something active outside. I guess you get used to it, like you get used to the snow.
I looove snow and cold, so living in MN is perfect for me. I used to spend 3 weeks in Hawaii every January for work, and that was pretty nice, so if I had to pick somewhere, I would go there
We're starting to think about a vacation for either March or May. We have been really wanting to travel to Portland and Seattle for awhile, but I would love a tropical vacation too...hmm.

Hugs - did something happen? Do something to make yourself feel good today. Whether it's a relaxing bath, small glass of wine, or tasty treat (or all 3).
