I'm having withdrawal

I deleted my Facebook today. It's amazing how much I miss it already. The "leaders" of our community are acting like a bunch of Nazi's, I figured it was best to just delete my account before I stir up a bunch of drama for deleting people off of it. 

I hate that it's the end of the world when you delete someone that your not actually friends with. 

On the bright side.. I received a letter from our management company today. There are 3 vacant seats coming up on the HOA committee, probably thanks to these 2 particular members. I think it's time to make a change, I wrote my name on the ballot.

What no Facebook? Nooo. Those people will probably just think you blocked them so maybe just block them anyway. Unless they talk about your Facebook to people you didn't block and figure out you blocked them. Facebook is so stupid sometimes. But since I stopped working 6 weeks before I had Amelia it became a big chunk of my social life. Sad. Lol

I hate how much I depended on it. I keep going to open it without even realizing what I'm doing. It's just a habit when I'm bored, I guess.
The problem if I were to block them is they would have a friend check to see if I blocked them. I would rather just delete them, stay off Facebook for a while then join again later. I need to stop buying all these deals being posted any way.

I went through a phase where I deleted people because I was trying to keep only family or close friends.  I mulled over deleting people because it wasn't anything personal... an ex of mine thought it was a good idea to contact me through FB and then he kept bugging me, so paired down my list and then deleted it for awhile.  But some people really think it's about them. 
Social media is here to stay, but I hope you come back sometime.  ;-)

It is pretty crazy how much I use it or at least look at it.

Good for you for going out for your HOA hope things can change.

I remember when you did that. I wondered if I had done anything to upset you but then realized we barely ever spoke anymore and didn't think anything more of it. Lila went on a deleting and blocking spree for a while there and removed a ton of friends and "friends"  from my Facebook. It's funny how a few people reacted to it. I will be back soon, just taking a small break.

I do too! I can not believe these people, who used to be my friends, think that they can dictate the number of vehicles in a driveway or people in a home. I am in awe over our HOA meeting last night.

Uh they can't dictate that. They can say however for the community to look its best no parking on the grass and no parking on the road after x time.

They can not say you have too many people in your home you need to move. That is not part of the HOA. Apparently these people need a reality check ASAP

They are ticketing people for having 3 vehicles in their driveway, if 1 is covering the sidewalk. I have a neighbor "M" who has lived here for 3 1/2 years without any issues. This guy "A" moved in across the street, got on the HOA board and now they are targeting him for being a renter, a redneck and someone who drives loud vehicles. M now has to park his truck in his neighbors driveway to avoid a fine. 

Im im seriously considering going to the county and news about it all. They are seriously acting like Nazis.

I have always assumed HOAs are practically useless. We rent, and when neighbors are being loud or anything, you don't hear a thing. BUT! We put some lights in the girls' windows and they were knocking on our door!

Because the noise coming through the walls that can be heard in the street is not making the neighborhood look bad, but the candle shaped lights in my 2 year daughters' room is. :eye roll:

After issues we had with neighbors in our last house... Non HOA communities are not an option. Our HOA has been great for the most part but with all of the foreclosures, the board is having to step it up and I think they are non over stepping their boundaries. I mean seriously, how are they going to tell me I can't have company over because their vehicles would block the sidewalk. I will fight this tooth and nail. 

I also found out that the two causing all of the problems are 2 of the 3 seats "available." They are up for reelection but someone can enter to run against them. They won't know what hit them when this community rallies together against them. Ugh... This is stressing me out. My poor 70yr old neighbor just went out and spent $65 on a trash can because they are trying to fine him for not using a lid.

Yes... After a top secret meeting with a neighbor at Starbucks this morning, I decided it was best to remove the issues and not worry about the fall out. People over react about being deleted on FB. There is nothing you can do about it
