my last half was Nov. 18....i did a 5K on Nov. 23 and a 10K on Thanksgiving and then have not laced up running shoes since. i am doing the princess half in Disney World and just entered in Hal H's novice 2 into google calendar. I know a lot of this will be on the treadmill versus outside b/c i am a wuss. (tonight i wanted to run outside but i was scared of icy sidewalks as it was gross in DC today).
i enjoyed the break but time to get back in the saddle. i hope to get into a 10-miler in April but after that i am trained out i think.
Get back out there, girlfriend! I ran outside yesterday around 4 and the sidewalks weren't too bad. I'm thinking there will be more melting today and tomorrow it should be easy to run outside.
I'm with you! Except WAY longer of a break--I did my last half in June and decided to take a year off from racing. I did a 5K Turkey trot and ran consistently since June, but no more than like 12 MPW MAX. I signed up for another half this week and plan to do the FIRST 18 week training program. I am actually excited again to start training

Dance class is tonight and hope to hit pavement soon.
i be typing from me phone. typos and grammer dont count.
Same boat, but even worse. Ran a half in early October on a shin stress fracture, and have taken off until now to rest it. Have the Pittsburgh half in May and really need to get back in the habit. I've done a lot of cycling and lifting in the meantime but i have obviously lost a lot of running endurance.

I'm right there with you! Yesterday was my first run since Thanksgiving, and it was on the treadmill. It was OK, but having a cold did not help matters. I need to really stick with it, since I start the plan for my next half on Jan. 1 (the race organizers had someone create plans for the half, and I kind of like it). I was hoping to run while DS was in religion class this afternoon, but will have to see what the windchill is. Otherwise, It's the treadmill for me tomorrow.
