I'll admit that before the Great Flood of 2013 I hadn't used tampons since my very first period. I'm just all angry at pads being gross because I was wearing a tampon and a pad and a towel and ruined all my underwear and I DON'T LIKE BEING CALLED GROSS WHEN I WAS OBVIOUSLY VERY GROSS
I'm not calling you gross. I'm saying I don't like wearing pads because THEY'RE gross. And it seems like you feel the same way.
Before having my kid, I used tampons along with a pad on heavier days. Being on b/c made my period so much saner. But since having C, tampons are very uncomfortable even after ages of kegels; diva cup same thing. So pads it is; at least the b/c keeps it much lighter.
I use a tampon and a pad for a back-up for the first couple days.
The Always Radiant line are very thin and almost like a panty liner. I really like them ,they're not bulky at all and I feel drier with them. I feel like I'm filming a pad commercial saying that.
Have you ever flung a palm sized blood clot across your bathroom, hitting both the rug and the tile, as you remove your tampon?
To be fair, I was also wearing a pad at the time. It didn't seem quite as gross in the moment.
I had one of those come out while I was in the shower. Freaky. I wondered if it would be able to go down the drain or if I would have to pick it up and put it in the toilet. Thankfully it went down the drain.

it's cracking me up that dirty red is responding to this.
You may have stumbled on the story behind the name.....
I just can't wear tampons. Plus, I feel like I get worse cramps when I wear them, so team pads for me.
And smell? What? Lol.
Yes, we pad wearers should really get an impartial third party to kindly smell us, so we know if we should go into womanly quarantine for five to seven days.
The stories on the internets about the diva cup smelling bad.... like smelling while inside women sounds horrible.
What? I've never heard of this and it's definitely never been an issue for me with my diva cup. I'd venture to guess that whoever is having that problem is having other problems entirely unrelated to their diva cup.
Diva cup. I haven't bought feminine hygiene products in over 6 years. My love isn't out of its cheap price though, it is just such a better way for me. I would always have a tampon dry on one side and that hurt to pull out. Either that or the supers would leak. My periods are very unpredictable.
you haven't replaced your diva cup in six years?
I haven't replaced mine in about that long and also bought mine when the labeling was for 10+ years. I periodically pop it in a 50/50 solution of water an hydrogen peroxide and it looks brand new. If you take proper care of it there is no valid reason to replace it yearly. It's my understanding they were forced to put the new label on it by the Canadian FDA, but a lot of people think it's so they can make more money buy building in obsolescence. Either way, it's fine.

I cannot believe so many people wear pads! I want to like them more, as I think they're more comfortable, but the cleanup is so much worse, at least for me.
I prefer tampons, I barely "fill" half of a lite tampon after 6-8 hours so I'm a little paranoid because I heard you're supposed to use lowest absorbency you need. Sometimes first and last day of period I wear a thin pad and I don't mind. it's obviously not the most comfortable but it eases my mind about trying to pull out a half dry tampon.

Yeah, until I'm back to having periods that aren't synthetically regulated, a panty liner is usually more than sufficient. I'm not into pulling dry cotton out of my vag for funsies. Guess I'll just have to stay smelly, lol!
