Amazon for LYFE. Seriously. Some 3rd party vendors to price gauge. I prefer to buy from Amazon directly. I had a bad experience with a vendor once and am still mad about it.
It seems that items sold BY Amazon are usually okay (maybe not THE lowest, but at least very competitive) but items sold by third party sellers can be WAY overpriced and you have to be careful. It does seem like a lot of items are more expensive around Christmas this year, which I didn't notice last year....

All I know is, I am currently seating next to giant Amazon box full of Christmas presents. I ordered while in my warm house in yoga pants and no bra. Yep
The beloved toy my DD1 wanted was $79 a few weeks ago, the price it was pretty much everywhere and we didn't pull the trigger. Last week when we were going to buy it the price had jumped to $172 on Amazon. Supply and Demand.
The toy prices have been ridiculous lately, Lego in particular. I hope it is just from the holidays.
What??? This is crazy. Toys R Us had the Lego set David wanted. It was $150 and Amazon had it for $100 and it was on sale for $80 when I bough it (amazon). I thought their Legos were really reasonably priced.
Normal price for the Dolphin crusiser is 69.99 or even a few bucks less at Target and Walmart but I think they are listing fake prices because it is never actually in stock. TRU just marked it up $10 like yesterday.
Usually if you send Amazon the link of the cheaper advertized item they will price match.
Really? Because one of the wish lists I saw had a Flutterbye at $49.99. I paid $29.99 at TRU for a birthday present and it's still selling at that price there. So I can fulfill on Amazon with a TRU price match? I am *not* paying $50 for a $30 toy and then having to ship it.

Usually they are good, retail or less (TRU marks up from retail on popular sets), but I noticed a lot of the cheaper sets were considerably over retail in the past week or so. The Lego website is out of stock on a lot of sets until Dec 23, so wonder if that plays into it. We did get a Lone Ranger set for $20 less on Amazon though. I got most of DS's gifts from the Lego website when they had double/triple points, but was looking this week to add some items to his wish list and get a gift for a friend and all the $20 sets were $30. The Ninjago set that was $40 on Amazon was $20 in store at Target.

Yes! My neighbor (grown neighbor, lol) is obsessed with Legos and so is my kid. He said they go to Toys R Us to look at the sets up close then buys them on Amazon. He said Toys R Us sells them over MSRP. I bought during black Friday so I have no doubt what you're saying is true. I notice a lot of price gouging this time of year. It sucks.
Doesn't Prime cost like $80-90? How is that "free shipping?" You pay for the first 7-8 shipments LOL
some of us have problems and can easily take care of those first 8 shipments in the first week or two.
I just complained that recycling was going to be a bitch next week since our container is already full (we just got a big chair too though, so that box was big). DH was all "this wouldn't be a problem if you didn't get so many boxes". Whatever, I don't see him handling any holiday shopping.

I also order BIG things - like my 40 lb dog food bag monthly - from Amazon. That way it's shipped direct to my door, no carrying it to/from my car for me. My UPS driver knows me well - he's such a nice dude.
Same here. Kitty litter is heavy. And I order all sorts of stuff from them from toothpaste, deoderant, razors to clothing and so much more. Mine was paid for in like 1 month.
It depends on what we are looking for. My husband will order from certain sites, but the shipping is like $10-$20! So I will go on amazon to see if I can find it cheaper + free prime shipping. Even if it costs the same but has free shipping, I consider that a win.
But as far as household products like tp or paper towels? It is cheaper in store.
I will say their prices are hit or miss. I wanted to buy my DS the Star Wars trilogy on DVD, amazon's cheapest price was $75. I found it at Walmart.com for $30.
queenbeecouons.com is my favorite site lately. Her job is stalking amazon I swear. I like her on facebook and she is posting deals all day long-usually toys that have dropped in price. If you go to her site and click on the amazon heading you will see all of the price drops as she posts them.

That Lego Dolphin Cruiser is a hot commodity this year.
I have a friend who couldn't find it an finally had a family member in a different city find it and they'll see each other before Christmas so it works.

I got some awesome lego deals. Both of my boys love them so I knew we would be buying quite a few, we got the fire and police station for 80.00 each.
I recently discovered thy toys r us runs an eBay account under KB Toys, with lower shipping costs. I got a sale price on a toy through it with $2.99 shipping. Shady bastards.
