I was distracted with the baby in the kitchen and I knew Layla was in the dining room, but I thought she was playing with some of her toys. Apparently she reached in his folder and took out a very important immigration form he needs to take with him next week and scribbled all over it--well over the part he needed most. Of all the forms she could of grabbed, she grabbed that one! I called DH at work but he was busy and told me to fix it. Once he has a chance to process what has happened I know he's going to be so mad.
I called the immigration office but I was transferred and the rep wasn't sure they were going to be able to help me anyways because I'm not the applicant. The wait was 68 minutes so I scheduled a call back. Please let them call! I know I can't just show up at the INS office. They need to send some sort of infopass just to get on premises if I'm not mistaken and I'm sure he has to be the one to go. I'm not sure. Has anybody here dealt with the immigration? Can I just show up at the local office and give it a try?

Okay, first: Deep breath. Deeeep breath.
And good thing that Layla is so cute!
I think the applicant is probably the only one that they would release the form to, but it's possible they would release it to the applicant's spouse with the proper documentation. So, is this a form that INS has created and sent to your H? Not, like, a form he was supposed to fill out and return?

I have always needed an appointment to be seen. Some offices are excellent, others more difficult to work with. I have found the hardest part just finding the right office/person. Once you do, things seem to go more smoothly. I really hope you get what you need.
I agree with PP, though. If it's just a form that he has to fill out, and not some other type of document, check out www.uscis.gov/forms and see if you can print another.

I'm still freaking out.
This is a form he received at his interview on Monday. He needs to present it next Wednesday. On the back of the form is a series of questions. He can't become a citizen without this form and if any questions are marked "yes" than that's an issue. Layla scribbled on both parts of the form and all over some of the yes'! It looks questionable. DH is Arabic and he's been here since he was 5, but it's been a long process to get to this point to finally have everything in order to get his citizenship. He also mentioned he was given a tough time at his interview (I don't know maybe they give everyone a hard time), and he just doesn't need any hiccups. This is freakin hiccup!
I found a copy, bit it doesn't have his information on it like the original or the bar code. I will double check with an agent. Hopefully they'll call soon!

I'm so sorry. We had a few tense moments with immigration, too, for what it's worth. I think they are pretty good at seeing through to the truth.

You should be able to fill in his information on the new sheet. Is this something he has to get notarized? He still has time for that at least if it is.
I'm wishing you a lot of luck. The INS can be brutal.

Oh, the form that's like, "Do you currently own, or have you ever owned, any Marxist literature?" etc, etc? Here's what you do: Bring in the form that you found online, plus the one that L scribbled on which has the unique identifiers. Just show them that it was a silly mistake (have lots of cute kiddo pictures as back-up), and you're hoping things can be re-printed/resolved, etc.
My H's story is similar to yours - he came here when he was 5, from a dictatorship/formerly socialist country. They gave him a tough time in his interview, too, but he's now a citizen of the good ol' USofA now
Ok, I'm calmer now. I just got off the phone with an agent. She said they can just fax it to him, but he has to be the one to call. I mentioned the reprinting the blank one and taking the original, but she sounded like that was the dumbest idea ever when she can just fax it. Ok fine, just asking. I was just hoping to fix this on my own, so he wouldn't have to call during work.
H hasn't called me back. I'm sure he'll be inconvenienced at having to call but at least he doesn't have to go up there. I was freaking out because I know how touchy he can be about his paperwork. If you want to piss him off, than just move or lose any of his important documents.
