That is the sickest thing Poor child(ren). I can't imagine the parents that have to send their kids to this school, knowing things like this go on. They must be so distraught. You have to send kids to school, but when you know there is a monster there, what do you do?
And I knew hot sauce was horrible. My IL's (and h to a lesser extent) think it's the "only" way to keep toddlers from saying swear words. I can't imagine forcing hot sauce in a child's mouth. Autistic is worse, but I just don't think any child needs that. Poor babies
And it wasn't even in one of the counties that still allows corporal punishment.
Wait, what? I was raised in FL, educated there, and taught there for 3 years. I had no idea there were still counties that allowed it. Do you know which ones they are? I know they had it in Pinellas county (where I lived and taught) until I was a 5th grader, so about 1989ish.

I'm not sure exactly, but I think they are all in the panhandle. I know someone my age (27) who grew up in Mariana and got spanked at school. My H went to High School in Santa Rosa county and I'm pretty sure it's still allowed there. I don't think it happens very often, but it is legal.
They don't allow corporal punishment in the county I live in. At least I don't think so. DH said he was one of the last classes that allowed it.
The whole Florida school system is a joke so, sadly, this doesn't surprise me.
Definitely not all do. But the fact *any* do is mind blowing.
And I agree on the education system here. Makes me want to home school.
Oh I agree. I think it's awful.
I couldn't home school my kids because we would just end up butting heads all day and I'm not confident I could teach them what they need to learn, but I wish there was another alternative besides private school. The ones where I live aren't that much better than the public schools and it's the same with charter schools here.
