I too hated this episode. I know people were speculating he would die but I just can't believe he actually did. It made me so sad. And now with Saul gone, ughhhh so depressing is right. And I HATE the new director. The only redemption would be to have Quinn go with Carrie at this point. And then they fall in love.
THis is so not the end of Saul. I don't believe that for a second.
They've surprised us before - I'm going to keep faith that they have a good story in mind for next season. It SUCKS that there is no Brody, but seriously.... what, he and Carrie were going to come back to the States, he'd be absolved of the bombing (who the entire country things did it) and they'd go on to live a happy domestic life and raise their kid? Um - no. He was f'd in the head. There would be no normal.
Oh, and the baby - the dad offered to keep it? Come on. I don't know that she can keep it- what's that storyline going to really look like? Her in Istanbul trying to be a tough chief, oh but wait - has to run home to take care of her baby....
I love Damien Lewis, while I understand Brody's time is over, I'm sure gonna miss having him on screen as that character (esp the days of Season 1 Brody!!!)
Her dad can't take the baby. Wasn't he confused in the first season, and that's why he was living with the sister?
Sol has to come back, but I'm not sure if he'll help the CIA on a contracted basis, or be re-hired.
Carrie and Quinn would make an amazing couple. He told her "that baby is a gift" and went on about how he messed up with his own family. He's been into her since day 1. They would make an incredible TV couple.
Will we ever see Brody's family again? I hope not.

I predict (okay hope) that they will become a couple and he will convince her to keep the baby and they will raise it her together.
And while I like Morena Baccarin in this series, I am over Brodys family. I REALLY hope Dana does not ever return.
I only wanted Brody's family to come back because my friend's cousin plays his son! lol oh well we barely saw him this season since it was all about annoying ass Dana!

That would seriously suck ass. Homeland is not Full House! Nobody watches it for la de da warm fuzzies.
I want to see:
Carrie go to Istanbul The baby be well out of sight Saul be back The asshole new Director get put in his place Lots of hot sex between Carrie and Quinn
I loved that there was no big cliff hanger. The anti-climax is the biggest cliff hanger of all, since anything can happen. I'm going to say that on every thread I find on GBCN, so you'll read that more than once from me.
I agree, and seriously, the bolded? ABSOLUTELY that. Everytime a baby is brought in to shows where a baby REALLY doesn't belong, it just ends up being unrealistic and annoying. I said this on another thread, but I think of Dexter (for those that watched that show). He's a single dad w/ a "career" that has really really odd hours. He somehow finds a young, hot nanny who has no life of her own and can basically be "mom". Yeah.... no.

Yeah, Dexter went way downhill after season 4 which is the season when Harrison was born. I mean, the writers bring a baby into the mix and then bam, he's a single dad. So annoying and unnecessary. I don't want a baby on Homeland either. I'm hoping she gives her to the sister to raise.
I'm glad Brody is finally gone. I wasn't surprised at all. He was originally supposed to die in the first season, but they liked the chemistry between him and Carrie, so they brought him back. He wasn't even in most of this season, so I thought it was probable it was going to be his last and they were trying to slowly fade him out. Now they can finally move past their crazy relationship and she can finally get with Quinn, who is 1,000x better!

I finally caught up last night. Brody had to die, as the previous PP said, there is nowhere he can go and live and his life be normal. Nowhere. Also, the baby plot was super annoying to me. She can't be a mother, she can't take that baby and be a chief in Istanbul, and have a newborn. I kept thinking (and I know how horrible this sounds) that because of all the stress, and getting shot, even the fall off the fence when Brody was hung, that she would miscarry. Something had to happen, she can't have a baby. And the other PP is right, the dad can't raise the baby, he's bipolar too. Her and Quinn working together sounds right, her and Quinn raising a child together....no.
I have to say I couldn't stand Carrie 90% of this season. She was so emotional and annoying. And never listened to anyone, which may make her a good spy. But it just got to be too much. I couldn't stand it.

If she were a "normal" character, I would agree. But she's mentally ill. And I tip my hat to Claire Dane for playing someone so well who is supposed to appear unhinged, illogical and manic.

Totally agree. I think we were supposed to feel uncomfortable at times, and wonder "WTF" other times - etc. BUT THEN I know that I also got sucked into the story and really believed she was "losing it" (and she was, to a point) to find out that this was also all being done on purpose with Saul!
I too wonder "what's next?" Without Brody...I guess next seasons first few episodes will be setting up the next story arc. I imagine it will have something to do with Javadi. I hate that these seasons are so short and that the first 3-4 episodes this season sucked!
Very much looking forward to no Dana.
Put me in the Carrie & Quinn boat. I hope this baby storyline doesn't screw up this show.

It's funny- when "we" started going to shorter seasons, I was annoyed. I'm used to 22 + episodes. But I've found that I actually think I prefer about 10 - 12 episodes .... IF they are done WELL. Homeland wasn't. They wasted too many episodes on Dana!
But if done well, so much more can happen/ be interesting in slightly shorter seasons.
I predict (okay hope) that they will become a couple and he will convince her to keep the baby and they will raise it her together.

I just caught up last night and I 100% agree with the bold. Thank goodness there will be no Dana next season. I do need more Quinn though, preferably without his clothes on.
