H pissed me off, justified?

I get why you are irritated about his attitude, though.

If you read my follow up that is billable on the slowest of weeks and not including side jobs Which is about 12 hrs per week. This also does not include travel. Plus he is constantly answering calls. 24/7.

I'd be pissed
1) he made a unilateral decision to work changing the previously discussed plans without checking with you
2) his 'just' be at home comment would upset me on a time with me and the kids isn't valuable level.
3) you need time for you and right before Christmas you need some kid free time to get shit done without chasing 3 kids by yourself.
DH always takes the week of Christmas off and those days of extra hands so I can get the house spotless/presents wrapped/etc are invaluable.
Also i love that we get some time just the 3 of us to do stuff before/after the Christmas Rush.
So I totally get how you're feeling.
