I read it and enjoyed it. I, too, have forgotten some details. However, I had a hard time picturing their home in my mind. Tree roots coming up through the floor? WHUT?
I read it a long time ago and I don't remember what happened to the baby, either. I loved the book. I teach in a private school in Seattle, and the whole time I was reading, I was all, "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" It is amazing to me, how well she was able to capture Seattle's culture, and even more so, Seattle's private school culture.
I loved the book because of the Seattle culture, and the Microsoft culture (which is an entire monster all together, and I've worked within that system). The author really nails it.
So yeah, it was hilariously awesome.
I foolishly admit that the book made me want to go to Antarctica, BADLY.
I listened to this one and the narrator was great which I think really added to the book. I agree though there were a lot of lose ends I would have liked to see tied up. I was in denial about the baby for the longest time and the fact that the never addressed it made seem less real.
