I am a SAHM w/ a first grader, a Pre-k kid, and a 2yo toddler who is home w/ me all the time so my preference is early morning (530am) or jogging stroller runs when DD 2 is in preschool (of course, winter weather makes that tricky!) On the rare occasion DH can make it home early during the week, I sneak in a solo run.
5am. I was doing that pre-baby too. I enjoy it-I'm a morning person though, I enjoy the peace and alone time at that time of day. Few cars, just the still/quiet of night. I run mostly, but that will change after the first of the year when I adjust workout goals/priorities.

On different days, it's different times. One day a week I go in the morning before DH goes to work. On the weekends, I usually run early in the mornings or late afternoon. Or on other weekdays, I run on the treadmill after the kids go to bed so like 9pm.
5:30/6:00 am - usually can get 2 hrs done and be home right as DH & DD are waking up. Then sometimes I take DD (almost 3) in the jogging stroller, or to gym childcare with me. We go to yoga some afternoons (4:15), and she loves the childcare there (they do tot yoga during the adult class).
I'm the same way about evenings - I feel guilty, but only because I'm in the home. If I were working outside the home, it would be different. Just because I feel guilty doesn't mean I think anyone SHOULD feel guilty, though.

I work out early in the morning, before work. It's the only time I can fit it in and have the energy to do it. I have a 3 year old and work FT.
ETA: I forgot to mention that I also sometimes take a class at the gym on my lunch break, but I'm lucky that my gym is less than a 5-minute walk from my office.

I have a four year old and an almost two year old who sleeps with me right now so she'll stay in bed past 5:30, so all I've got is after kids are in bed. This worked better when it wasn't cold and dark and snowy, and I do feel bad about ditching DH, but it is what it is for now.

Another pre-dawn person here. Though my kids are both in school a lot now (first grade and 3yo/pre-k) and I work from home, so I can also fit in some runs during school hours.

I have almost 20 month old twins and am a working mom. During the week on my lunch hour and depending on the weather/time of year, after the go to bed on the treadmill at home or outside. I also run with them in the BOB stroller also when it's warmer/lighter.
Weekends is either mornings and H takes kid duty or during their naptime. When I was training for my 1/2 this fall, I would usually leave around 9 after their breakfast for my long run so I was home in time to help with lunch and naptime.
I am very lucky to have a free gym membership through work and that gym is also across the street from work. I prefer to run outside, but I use the treadmill and weights often.
I wish I could make mornings work, but my DS is a very inconsistent early riser, and with two we both need to be home to get ready for the day. Hopefully when they get older.
I have an almost 3 year old and a 5 month old. I go during the afternoon and take the kids to the gym daycare. Best money spent was getting a membership with daycare. They love it and I get a work out in.

Usually right after work or early evening. My gym is right down the road from my school, which is done at 2:40, so I can get in and be on my way home by 5. DH picks DS up from the sitter on those days. Otherwise, I'll bring DS to the gym's childcare. He really likes it. I usually just run on weekends, so that I do in the morning before we start or day.
I have to do it in the afternoons and evenings. I work in education, so there's no way to do it in the mornings for me. Most days, I just run at school. When I go to the gym, it's usually after we've been home for a bit, so I don't really feel bad about the time. Plus, it's just an hour, ya know?
I work from home full time. 6yo in kindergarten and 3yo at daycare. I usually work out around 6am for about an hour with a DVD or on my treadmill. In the winter months (like now) if it's looking like a pretty nice day I will go for an outside run for later on in the day like lunchtime. I prefer getting it out of the way early in the morning though as my day will get away from itself usually and I won't do it in the evening.

I work occassionally and when I do, I try to get my workouts in the morning before work otherwise it's tough getting them in after work. When not working, usually during nap time. And on days DH works late, I workout before he leaves.
I do my strength training at home. At least once a week I can leave work early for a run, once a week I run during lunch, and I do my long run first thing Saturday morning.
I work FT out of the home and have a 2 year old. I'm mostly just running right now. I run 3x during the week, and once on the weekend. For now, I'm able to run during the day. I change in my office and wait to put my work clothes back on until I'm no longer sweaty. I'm also contemplating rejoining the gym. My plan there is a class 2x/week. On those days, MH will do pickup and dinner.

When I just had one, I'd throw her in the jogging stroller with a bottle or sippy and head out for a first-thing-in-the-morning run, or I'd do weights or a video during the morning nap. By the time #2 came along, #1 was about to start school so we'd drop her off and go running from there (we walked to school most days) or, again, a video during naptime. Once both kids were in school at least part time I worked out after they were both dropped off since I had that option as a SAHM. But honestly, DH works out in the evening and I don't feel like he's abandoning us (at least, not most of the time!) so if the situation was different and that's the only chance I had, I'd take it. I'm happier and healthier when I work out regularly, which makes me a better wife and mom so it's time well spent away from the family.
Hi! I am a SAHM of 2.5 year old twins. I take them to the YMCA childcare. They love it there ("FRIENDS!" they say when we pull in to the parking lot.) I run for about 30 minutes, and then come back in a do a circuit on the strength machines.
I work out first thing in the morning (445a) so that I can be back by the time my little one wakes (at 6a). I do stay at home so there are days when I will go to yoga while he's with a sitter.
It sucks waking up so early but if I didn't, our schedule would not allow for any family time until the weekends.
I have an almost 5 month old (HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS ON WEDNESDAY I WILL HAVE A FIVE MONTH OLD OMGWTFBBQ.) and work Tues-Fri 730a-6p. I need to be working out early, like 5am early, but haven't found my motivation again yet so my working out has been relegated to the weekends and Mondays. I pick the baby up at the sitter's after work, we get home at 630, and he's in bed no later than 8 unless he's fighting sleep like a mofo so working out after work isn't an option.
I SAH with a 6 year old and a 2 year old. Now that the 6 year old is in K it is SO much easier. I use the YMCA child care a few times a week (like amellis2, my 2 yo LOVES it, scream "GO PLAY" and runs away from me), or a I jog with her in the stroller. She goes to nursery school for 2 hours 2x a week so sometimes I run at a park near the school while she's there. On the weekend we go to the Y as a family, and Sunday AM is usually my long run day, when H stays with the kids.
I'm not a mom, but don't feel guilty about spending time on yourself. You are showing your child through your actions that being active and leading a healthy life is important to you and your husband.
I often run with DD2 in the stroller after we drop DD1 at school. DD2 is also in preschool 2 days/week, so I do longer or or speedier runs then.
When it actually stays light in the evenings late enough to get in a run after DH gets home, I don't hesitate to do that. Why should moms have to sacrifice evening time?
All of the above? I have learned to be flexible, and get it in when I can. Early mornings, lunch breaks when I was working, after bed times, whenever DH is home (which is not often enough!), nap times... I have a nice home gym, which is convenient, and also finally joined a gym this Summer. Gym daycare has definitely opened up my schedule, and the kids love it. win/win.
