Granted I am new to this whole mom thing but so far I workout when Andrew is sleeping, when my husband is home, or when my mom is around. When I go back to work I fully plan on taking an extra hour of me time and going to the gym while he is in daycare. I'm sure I will feel a little guilty about it but exercise makes me feel better and makes me a happier (and therefore better) mom. He's a little young for the gym daycare but when he is old enough I will take advantage of it too. I'm paying good money for both of these services!

I'm so not a morning person. I run on Saturday mornings with a group, but I've missed a few of them lately because my wife has been working OT pretty much every weekend and it's hard to find someone to watch our 4yo that early in the morning. We have our son in bed by 8:30-9pm at the latest, then we'll spend an hour or so together before she goes to bed. I exercise after that, either on the treadmill in the basement or doing DVDs in the living room (which, um, hasn't happened much lately). She leaves for work between 5-5:30am, so I can't leave the house after that unless I want to get the boy up and take him with me, which isn't happening.
y'all this is very discouraging for a woman who hates early mornings but wants to keep up her fitness when she eventually has a child!
It is hard. But my kids are older now and in school full time. I also work three days a week and make my own hours. That helps a lot. I never wake up early for runs; even in marathon training but I use dry shampoo and sometimes run between sessions. You will find a way. I am not going to wake up at 5 am. Just can't.
I work FT and have a teen and a one year old. I go right after work. I drop off the baby in the morning and he picks her up from daycare in the evening. Weekdays I try to workout 3x at 5:30PM. On Saturdays I workout at 9am. My husband understands so he is OK watching the baby and I don't normally feel guilty. If I didn't have the baby I would go to the gym more often on the weeksdays but decided to keep it at 3x to give my husband a break.

I don't. Where I run it's really well lit. I do wear a ton of reflective articles of clothing, though, so people can see me.

My pre-sunrise workouts are all swimming, treadmill, or on my bike trainer. I don't ever run alone in the dark (I'm too creeped). But, when it's dark (& I'm with friends), I wear a headlamp.

I used to drop DS off at daycare early and work out before work. Now that he's in school, his bus comes at 8, so I can't do that anymore. I finally bought a treadmill and I either work out in the morning which I prefer, but if I can't get my butt out of bed, I work out in the evening after DS goes to bed.
I'm a SAHM with a 3 and 5 year old. I run at 5:30 a.m. (headlamp and reflective vest, and a friend!). There are a few times during the week when I've got about 2 hours while the boys are at school, and I try to bike then. On the weekends, I try to get at least one longer run or ride in, and I do that around 7 a.m.

I always work out Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. That way I have three days in (my "workout week" starts on Friday, in my head anyway). Then if I even get two nights to work out during the week, I feel I am doing good.
Although last night I was begging both kids....just one hour! Please can I have just one hour!?! I managed 45 minutes of spinning until my 13 year old texted me, (I use my phone for my music) "I need help!!" with his homework. Take what you can get sometimes.
I have 2 kids in preschool and I work PT. I mostly get my runs in during the early mornings. On Fridays, both kids are in preschool and I don't work, so I do my long runs after I drop them off at 9am.
DH got into working out (weights) over the summer. He hates working out in the mornings, so he does it at night. He doesn't feel guilty leaving me. Don't feel guilty.
