A couple nights ago it was the vagina song, and today E pointed out another area I'm failing her.
We were talking about what she did at school, and she said she painted a fairy. Cool. She told me it was named Noelle. Lovely. There's a girl in her class named Noelle so I assume she's just using that name.
Nope. She didn't paint a fairy. She painted an angel. Like, a Christmas angel, holding a little ribbon that says Noel.
CHRISTIAN FAMILY FAIL. Turns out you have to actively go to church or teach your kids about that stuff, because otherwise they think it is just another fairy named Noelle. Oops.
When Anna was about two, we drove by a church and she said "look mommy, a castle!" We are agnostic but want to raise our kids Christian so that they can make their own judgements. But it is so freaking hard.
So we decided to start talking about religion more, I talked about baby Jesus on Christmas and all that. Then we were talking about something (maybe my deceased grandparents) and I mentioned the person being with God. Anna: who is God???
Double fail. Maybe we should just leave that stuff to our parents, lol
Ha ha, we don't believe, but my kids go to a church based daycare. Dd1 was very certain that the priest's name was Jesus, other than that if you asked her what she learned in chapel she'd say "no shoes on the pews!". They still think some of the fancier churches are castles too.

DD goes to a catholic school and made me a card. I looked at the picture on the front and thought "Does she really think I have that much facial hair?". Then I realized she drew Jesus sitting on a cloud.
