Recently while watching Modern Family, H noticed that the characters almost always are dressed in layers. Jeans/long pants, jackets, long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, etc. Isn't this show supposed to take place in the LA area? I just looked up the average temperature for LA and even in the two coldest months the average high is 68*. Do people in LA dress like this in the "winter"? I've only been to LA once at the tail end of summer, so it was hot when I went.
I noticed it too. Southern California people (me included) like to pretend we have weather so we can wear boot, scarves, etc. I draw the line at rain boots but I would love a pair of hunters. Totally not practical!

People in SoCal dress just like anywhere else. Last week it was in the 60s, so I wore boots and sweaters. Now it's back in the 70s, but because it's "winter," I'm not wearing summer dresses, mainly tees, jeans and sandals.
And LOL to the previous poster. When I lived in Michigan, I only knew a few people there with Hunters or Uggs. Here, tons of people have them. It cracks me up.
