How to download Epub from Mac to Nook Color?

Please help me! I just got a Macbook Air this week and I'm trying to transfer an Epub file from ADE to my Nook Color. Whenever I plug the USB cord in, the Mac opens up iPhoto instead of recognizing it on ADE. How do I get it to work? I just want to read! :-(

I don't have a mac but on a PC I plug in the NC and close the window that pops up. Open ADE and you should see the device listed on the left side. If it's an epub file that isn't in ADE yet, I make sure that i'm on the "all items" on the left and drag and drop the file from where it is into ADE. Then I drag it from "all items" into my NC (mine says "media" in ADE)
