I keep mine on the counter but this time of year we're overrun with a billion different bread things (rolls, buns, bread etc) so I'm thinking of buying a bread box, but that seems like seriously such a stupid thing to spend money on.

Back when I had a normal sized microwave and not this tiny box meant for gnome cooking, I kept it in the microwave until it got really hot and then kept it in the fridge. Now I keep it on top of the fridge or in it, depending on how warm it is in the house.
On top of the microwave (counter space is limited). If it's fancy bread or some other kind that we won't use quickly, it gets sliced and stored in the freezer.

I leave it on the counter. I have been talking about getting a bread box or putting it somewhere else for years, but let's face it will probably stay on the counter.
Used to keep it in the fridge but I didn't like how it tasted. Always tasted stale. So now it sits on the counter next to the toaster. We go through it so fast there's no time for it to go bad.
