Antman - the movie

I'm getting a little wigged out thinking about this movie. I can imagine all kinds of horrific scenes a director might do especially with the current 3D obsession. Yup, I'm getting the heeebeee geeebeees thinking about swarms of ants.

Did this get an official greenlight / cast yet? I know there was some test footage done that was supposed to be awesome...

Paul Rudd is confirmed as Ant-Man.

I can get behind Paul Rudd in a lot of things but I'm not sure about this. I hope it's going to be a comedy/fun movie. Ant Man doesn't really sound like a tortured superhero though.

I can see this working as a standalone movie. What I can't see is how this will work on conjunction with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. It seems an odd fit.

I think that's good casting.  I mean, Antman is kind of an earnest dork.  He's more Henry Pym than Antman.  I think it's a good choice, like Marc Ruffalo for Bruce Banner.

I meant tonally. As in, we saw that in avengers you could drop any other character into any other movie and it worked. Rudd has a COMPLETELY different vibe and acting style from any of those characters except maybe RDJ. He just doesn't fit what we've seen so far.

Standalone, sure. As part of the MCU, we'll have to see.

No, we're thinking its going up be guardians of the galaxy focused. H thinks its going to be the infinity gauntlet.

? The title of the movie is Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron. How will it not be about Ultron?

3 is rumored to be the infinity gauntlet storyline.
