Hey H&F!
Today was a shitty day. I got my heart broken by my ex yet again. It was sounding like we were going to give the long distance thing a second chance and had been talking about it for several days, with many "I still love you's" exchanged. And then today he comes up with "uhhh... I should have mentioned before, I've been seeing someone." DONE. I have no patience for that shit. So after that, I had a good cry, and then I went shopping. Now I'm drinking and wrapping presents - in Justin Bieber paper, no less. It's pretty fantastic.
Who's here? What's everyone up to? I'm starting my 2014 training season, so I'm looking forward to actually having something to contribute to this board again!
I'm just about to open some wine, fire's going and I dragged the stuff up from the basement to decorate the tree. It's been up for a week, but apparently we like to prolong the process. Crazy week. I'm sorry about your ex, that sucks.

I'm here, drinking a nice glass of California red Zinfandel while my husband and 3-year old play with Play Doh. It's an exciting Saturday night! Seriously though, I've had a good weekend so far. The weather has been amazingly mild for late December, and it's greatly improved my mood.
I'm sorry your ex is dicking you around. Have you settled in well to CO?

Sounds fun! Decorating the tree is always a good night. My roommate and I put on our onesies and some christmas music and decorated ours after Thanksgiving. It was a nice night. Have fun!

I LOVE Colorado! It's absolutely fantastic. I was going to go to Vail tomorrow, but I don't want to fight the traffic. I forgot it's a holiday weekend. I'll go when I get back after new year's.

I just had some dinner and beer. About to settle into watching some tv on the couch and probably having another beer. I've had a busy day of grocery shopping, last minute liquor store run and cleaning for Christmas.

I can't remember, are you in CO?
If you head up early (ie: 7:30am) traffic won't be bad going up. Just bail early enough to be back on the road before 3pm so you don't hate your life on the way down! We've done it a few times. And with it being a holiday weekend I'm willing to bet the traffic back to Denver won't be that bad. A friend was a Vail today and said the lift lines weren't too bad. Traffic IN the Denver Metro on the other had is just stupid - everyone is busy Xmas shopping!

I'm so jealous! I've only been to CO once, years ago with my former roomie while she was at a work conference. When her kids are a bit older, going on another girls trip out there is one of our first priorities. I was a new skier, and the days I skied out there were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. A-mazing.

Basically...I vote for Vail!
or come run at Green Mountain tomorrow morning!
Run where? I'm totally down!
Green Mtn - in Lakewood/Golden area.
I'm DMing you my email (if I can figure out how to DM, its been a while).

Not drinking tonight. We hosted the holiday party for dh's fire station last night and I drank WAY too much and am paying for it today. After we put the kids to bed I am going to target. I am hoping that it won't be super insane late at night. The kids found my Santa wrapping paper and insisted on wrapping their gifts to each other in it, so I have to buy a different wrapping paper for Santa, ugh!

I'm stoked for some back bowls and real powder. I'm from upstate NY and only just got here in August, so this is my first CO ski season.

Good luck at target! It wasn't too bad this afternoon.
I'm currently enjoying an apple cider and vodka. We had a great day wine tasting with my bff today and I really wanted wine, but decided to hit the hard stuff instead. Trying not to drink too much so I can go to walmart early in the morning tomorrow.

Nope, I'm on the east coast. I have family in the Denver area though. I've visited a couple of times. It's a very nice area!
I went to the Georgia Aquarium and out to dinner with a friend. Then I went for a milkshake after I dropped her off at home. I am so full! I'm now looking at photos I took at the Aquarium.

Your ex does suck, but at least now it's clear and you can focus on moving on. Or drinking and Beiber wrapping paper, whatever works
I'm drinking a pre-vacation cocktail and translating a contract for work. DH and I fly to the Dominican Republic for Christmas at 2 am tonight! I cannot WAIT to be on vacation - I hesitate to say anyone "needs" an expensive trip, but as much as you can say that, we really need a vacation.
I'm also basking in the glory of my obstacle race today. I am just so happy that Crossfit is not only a fun sport but is something that has let me meet new people who are chill and down to do things like run around a hill through mud on a Saturday not necessarily to win but just to be active, have fun and support each other. /cheesy moment

Have fun on your vacation! I'm jealous. Although, I do get to go meet my two month old nephew on Monday.
Crossfit is great. I really want to join a box here, but it's so dang expensive. I interviewed for an amazing job on Monday and I'm really hoping I get it. If I do, that's one thing that's definitely going into the budget.
I spent the day getting last minute presents; all gift certificates. I completed some decorating in the house. We had dinner with DH's family. We are now home, enjoying a beer and watching the Women's Volleyball Championship. Go PSU!

Nice! How are you doing?
Sorry to hear about your crappy ex! Good riddance! I'm doing well. The knee is still healing. I "graduated" from PT this week and got the tshirt to prove it!
I'm here drinking white wine and wishing it was red. Is the ex dicking you around the xh or an xbf?
XBF. I don't talk with XH at all. I get occasional bizarre/bitchy texts from XH that are sometimes highly entertaining, but never respond.
K. Good. I was worried you were entertaining the idea of getting back with the XH,which for those following along at home is always, always, without exception a terrible idea. I forbid you (collective you) from doing that.
Best advice I got post divorce is the time you think is the last time you'll speak to xh is never the last. There will always be another. They get more widely spaced. But it's like the MF'ers have a sixth sense re: when you haven't even had a passing thought about the for months and then BAM email/text/regular style run in.
