DD is not a super active baby. Even in her u/s, she's usually stretched out and relaxed. The past few days I've been having normal movements, but also some weird movements I don't recognize. They're quick, really quick, repeated, almost like a vibration. It's hard to explain. I don't think it's hiccups because it's too fast and I don't think it's a startle because it happens without a prompt. Imagine a wet dog shaking - it feels kinda like that - rapid, repeated, but only for a second or so. Always super low.
Ok, glad to hear this is normal, or at least semi-common. For a moment I went to a dark place of OMG, seizure disorder! I think I have too much time on my hands today. I need to chill out - I could use a glass of wine right now!

I have to admit, the word seizure entered my mind more than once a dog shaking is a good way to describe it. I prefer to think it's some sort of spasm as opposed to a seizure. I'll ask tomorrow at my appointment!
I was googling to see if I could find an answer and I couldn't. But, you are apparently not alone in your initial concern that it was a seizure. It looks like a lot of moms were worried about that and asking similar questions. It was was also described as spastic or like crazy muscle twitches. I wish I had a window sometimes so I could identify some of these movements or body parts.

I have had this too and even said to people that it felt like be was having a seizure in there. I didn't actually think he was, but that's how I could describe it.

I tell my husband daily that I wish I had a window! I am not ready for the baby to come out but I SO want to know what the heck it is doing in there!
Could it be her possibly rolling over? I noticed new movement and I think she is just moving in new ways the bigger she and I get. Like she takes her hand and rolls it along the inside as she's turning is what mine feels like.
No idea, I wonder if that's it. It feels more like a tremble or a tremor kind of thing, but I don't know if I've felt her roll. I am horrible at deciphering her movement and I blame the anterior placenta on that, but it could just be me! Sometimes I do feel more pronounced movements that feel like a large squirm, but I haven't felt anything that feels like a roll even though the kicks change position from time to time.

This happened to me too and my Google-fu led me to believe it wasn't the baby but rather a uterine spasm or something like that. At 3 months, DS has never seized or tremorred
I've had these too! The feeling makes me think of my cat scratching her ear, but dog shaking off water is pretty accurate too. Good to know it's somewhat normal, it definitely weirds me out a little.
Both my daughters had that. I looked into it and it is normal - their nervous systems are just developing. It continued after birth for a bit (little shaking tremors) but resolved over time. This one is 8 days old and I think they've stopped already. And no, it is nothing like hiccups (even though every time I mentioned it to a doctor they'd talk about hiccups for some odd reason.)
