My first week of marathon training went great. I've never started off a cycle so strong/fast and it makes me nervous. On the down side, it is Winter so I have sick kids. I also have no voice, but my family isn't complaining about that
I'm beginning my 4th week of training for the Augusta Half Marathon on February 23rd. This will be my second half, and this is the same race I did last year. Everything feels great so far, with the exception of some minor shin pain. I have good shoes, so I'm not sure where this us coming from. This week's schedule is: Tuesday-3 miles Wednesday-4 miles pace Thursday-3 miles Saturday-6 miles I cross train several days a week at boot camp, and I've really focused on stretching due to my IT injury last time. I've adjusted some of the long runs on the HH calendar just to be on the safe side. I know I'm capable of doing it, I just don't want an injury. Last time I made it to 10 in training, and still had a great time. 1:59:44
Holidays are hard since my mother passed (6 1/2 years ago), especially Christmas. It's a very bitter sweet time for me b/c I love watching it through my children's eyes.

I ran 20 miles this past week and spent 2.5 hours on the elliptical. My longest runs were a little over 5 miles each.
DS turned 5 weeks old last Tuesday. I'm not following a training plan for now. My goal each week is to do at least an hour of cardio 5-6 days per week, and have my "long run" match his age in weeks.
Jacksonville Bank HM 12/29/13 and Town of Celebration Marathon 1/26/14
I don't know what I'm doing this week. I'm trying to balance the feeling of REALLY wanting to PR my half this weekend, and realizing that it's not my end goal, so I shouldn't slack on training. My legs have been so dead from Pfitz though, so if I don't back off, I definitely won't do well. The holidays will force a bit of a taper. I was thinking about 5-6 today, maybe 7 w/some speed work tomorrow, and then maybe a few easy miles Friday &/or Saturday. Sunday will be the half, w/a 2 mile warm-up and 2 mile cool down.
What are you training for? Date? Not training for anything as of now - giving myself a break after a heavy Fall race schedule
Training plan for the week? M - rest T - 8 mile run W - 5 mile run Th - 8 mile run and weights F - elliptical? S- Insanity and 3 mile run S- running and weights?
Vents/Highlights/Randoms? Sugar has been my worst enemy - so many good treats around to gorge on. I do okay at meals but with all the eating out and treats - my weight has been fluctuating like crazy.
I had a great 10 miler last Sunday - it was in the 60's and partly sunny - today it's overcast and 15 degrees out - ugh!
Training for B&A half 3/30 Have to be flexible this week but was able to do 5 yesterday with 5 800's mixed in, 6 this morning. Plan on 7 tomorrow with my sister and BIL. Long run this weekend of 11. I'm trying to keep some strength work in my schedule but that may go to the wayside this week. Have a merry Christmas everyone!

Some of my best races and runs are after a night of "binging". Eat those cookies! I also subscribe to the theory that up to 2 glasses of booze helps your overall time by 30 seconds each drink. After 2 then it slows down by a minute per drink. You've been killing your runs lately. There's a PR in there somewhere.

What are you training for? Date? Short term, Quad Rock 50M 5/10. Long term, RRR100 9/12.
Training plan for the week? Training to train...so building mileage, some strength, some cross - no specific plan, but something like this:
Monday - 4.5mi Tuesday - 2.5mi + 3mi Wednesday - 12mi Thursday - Sunday - no idea yet.
Vents/Highlights/Randoms? A weird combo of intense motivation and complete terror over hitting the "register" button on the QR50. Its a very ambitious race to chase down in 17 weeks of legit training.
What am I training for? That's a great question. I'm training for not going insane while I wait to see what's up with my stupid leg. On the schedule right now is Tink on 1/17, Princess on 2/23, and Colorado Marathon 5/4.
Planning? Ha! M: butts and guts, Tu: rowing maching, W: walk outside, I hope, Th: spinning, F: dunno, Sa: body pump
Randoms/vents: It makes me sad to see my new Sayonaras just sitting there. Temps are supposed to get to 60 this week and I can't run. I seriously just want to drink my sorrows away - or even eat my feelings - and it is soooo hard to resist.

Vents/Highlights/Randoms? Aw - I ran my highest weekly mileage last weekend- 25.25 miles! Even better is I didn't realize it until yesterday, so I guess my legs didn't feel so bad.
