I'm working right now but I'm probably only going to stay a half day and then I'm off the rest of the week. I'll head home and wrap my wife's gifts before she gets home, and maybe bake some more cookies with the boy. I want to make some marshmallows, too.
Tonight we're going to prep the breakfast casserole for the morning and the lasagna for tomorrow's dinner, then watch the Polar Express and have our annual argument over whether we should open one gift on Christmas Eve or not (my family always did, hers opened everything on Christmas day). After the boy goes to bed we'll set everything up for tomorrow morning while we drink hot chocolate with yummy additions (code: alcohol)!
Tomorrow we'll get up and throw the casserole in the oven. I'm curious to see if the excitement gets the boy up any earlier than usual since he's not normally an early riser. Also I can't wait for him to see his presents and everything under the tree, and the stockings, and we got a little dusting of surprise snow that I hope sticks around! Our sisters are both coming over at some point but I'm not sure exactly when, and they'll stay for dinner and games.
We're doing a big family dinner with my side on Thursday and then celebrating with her side on Saturday.
Working till noon and then I need to go to the grocery store (with what I fear will be 1001 of my closest friends!) Go home, get dressed/get kids dressed and go to the early service at church. We always go to eat at the Mexican place that we've been going to weekly for 9 years. We'll go home and we'll all open new pajamas and a new game (just Dance 2014 for the Wii) and will play a bit before sending the kids to bed. Once we know they are asleep, L will assemble their stockings and make sausage balls while I'll work on setting up the iPods.
Tomorrow - we've told the kids they can't get up before 6am. I am sure at 6:01, they will be in our room. The kids will get their stuff from Santa and then I'll put the casserole in to cook while they play with their new stuff. We'll eat and then open the gifts from L and I and let them play with those things. We'll eat a snacky lunch (since no one wants to cook) and then open gifts from other people.
We don't tend to get out of our (new) pjs and just hang around and play with new toys/read/rest/snack.
Thursday/Friday - the kids go to camp and L and I go to work.
We're spending most of the day today cleaning and generally preparing for my in-laws to get here tomorrow. The plan is that by late afternoon we'll be ready to stop and relax. We're having my family's traditional Xmas eve dinner (wild rice soup and homemade rolls) and going to an evening service at church.
Tomorrow we're spending most of the day alone together and will try to recreate some of our family traditions... stocking presents first, then a big nice breakfast (fresh squeezed orange juice, breakfast casserole, fresh fruit), then open the gifts from people who won't be here in the next few days. Then we're doing a sausage stuffed pork loin for dinner. And after dinner we go to pick B's parents up from the airport.
Today we are just hanging out. We'll make cookies, track Santa on Norad and then go check out the lights. We'll put out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer and then it's off to bed. I'll arrange the gifts after I am sure everyone is asleep. Gifts and a special breakfast in the morning and then we head to my mom's for more gifts and dinner.
I am super excited this year! It's baby's first Christmas and a few of the girls gifts will make their heads explode. They are going to be so excited.
S is working today do e and I had friends over this morning. I made homemade pasta sauce for tonight's dinner. We will put cookies and carrots out for Santa and then wrap last gifts and set up.
Tomorrow we do presents and them French toast casserole. Then we go to my sil's for more presents and lunch.
Friday we go to my parents for Christmas with my family.

Today E is with her dad. I took the day off and I'm spending it baking rolls and a chocolate raspberry cake and doing miscellaneous other kitchen prep for tomorrow. And I'll be wrapping gifts and trying to stay busy. My parents and their dog just arrived. This morning A got the house dog proofed to separate the dog from the cats.
Tomorrow morning I'll head to E's dad's where E will open her Santa items from both homes. We've done this together for a few years now and it's fun for E and nice for us to share her excitement together. After that E will come home with me and we'll make dinner and open gifts with my parents and spend the day together.
