Maybe this is just my welcome into third trimester?
Did you guys notice reduced movement at all at the start of third trimester? She's been following a pretty regular pattern - I feel her throughout the day, albeit sporadically, and she's much more active in the evenings. Friday and Saturday nights I was taking video of my belly shaking from her hard hits.
Sunday, Monday, and today she's still moving, but much less and less predictably. The movements aren't hard thumps that rock the belly, more like low squirms. H thinks I'm paranoid and everything is fine. I drank some sweet stuff last night, laid on my left side, and nothing. When I got into bed and laid on my right side, there were a few movements. Still, it feels like less than normal.
I really don't want to be alarmist and go to the ER and I'm guessing my dr's office is closing early. I'm wondering if maybe she flipped around and is facing my back? I also have the anterior placenta so I feel like movement is always muffled anyway. I'm also wondering if being on winter break has messed with her because my sleep schedule is so off.
Second tri was so amazing and third tri has begun with the weird wiggles, less movement, difficulty bending over, and super exhaustion!
I've definitely noticed a difference in movement the further I got. The obvious kicks and jabs turned into a soft rolling movements. There is less space for the baby to freely move around as he gets bigger.
This exactly. I don't get punched and kicked as much anymore, but she certainly likes rolling around in there.
I've never had good luck with the left side/sugary drink thing for some reason. I just had a latte and I'm sitting back on the couch. I tried music and light and got nothing. I poked my belly a few times and there was some movement. I can feel some squirming right now too like she's moving around. It's just strange that on Saturday her kicks were huge thumps and I haven't really felt any like that since then, mainly smaller, gentler movements.
Next u/s is on Saturday. I just hope she's ok in there!
I had an anterior placenta and also felt less movements at the end of second/start of third trimester. I would barely feel her except a little in the morning and increased movement at night before I went to bed. Never saw the shaking belly. If you are worried though, I would not hesitate to go see your doctor. Even with her moving so little, I didn't feel her move at all in an 18 hour period so I went to the doctor though like you, I was hesitant to do so. Sure enough her amniotic fluid had decreased in there (not a good thing) and that's why she wasn't moving.
To make up for it, she is now an incredibly squirmy newborn.
