My brother and his wife are staying in the basement bedroom at my parents (where the treadmill is), and as much as I am happy to spend time with them, I am seriously looking forward to having the room available so I can RUN!
(I am frightfully ill equipped to run in <10 degrees and am scared to run on snow/slush/ice)
At least I had a stomach bug over Christmas so any of the delicious food available looked seriously unappetizing or didn't stay down, so I don't feel sluggish?
My mom broke her foot while running yesterday. She was just finishing up a five mile run for our marathon training plan. Looks like she won't be marathoning any time soon.

I'm very sluggish today - ate too much yesterday and it was also a weird combo of food:(
I plan to run this afternoon - it's sunny and not too cold out. I looked at my Garmin info and I'm about 35 miles away from 1,500 miles this year! Gives me a goal to take me through the end of the year:)

I had Chipotle for lunch today...it was amazing. I figure if I have to be at work even though damn near no one wants to come to speech today then I'm treating myself to something yummy for lunch. However, if I end up leaving work early and decide to go on a run things could get ugly
I'm still up in the air on whether I'm going to actually sign up for the winter/spring running group session or not. It'd be nice to not feel the guilt that'd come with going but not paying for it, but I'm not convinced I'll be able to go enough to make it worth the $90 (ugh). Blarg.
I have a bag of white chocolate snack mix on my desk from one of my patients (think pretzels, peanuts, rice chex, and M&Ms tossed in white chocolate). The bag WAS full and now its only half full. Oops.
On the upside, I fit into ONE of my prebaby pairs of jeans on Saturday! They're the pair I was wearing when I got pg and was weighing about 10 lbs more than I'd like to be, but its a start. It's probably the best I'll be able to do until I'm done nursing and that's okay because they're my favorites out of the prebaby jeans I had anyway.

I was so excited to get in at least one long run when we were in PA visiting my parents. They live near the best trail that runs along a river. It's beautiful and peaceful and flat. I woke up the first morning, got dressed and discovered that it was POURING. In retrospect, I should have just gone. The second morning, I woke up, got dressed and it was snowing. Hard enough that the roads were covered. Yesterday morning, I woke up, got dressed, went to brush my teeth and discovered that they didn't have water after a water main in their town broke. Since I wasn't about to spend the day unshowered after a run, I gave up. Now, I am back at work and angry about my cursed run.
For the past MONTH, my daughter has had a stomach bug, followed by me catching a nasty cold, followed by her getting RSV, followed by me catching the flu. WTH? Today is my first day back at work FT since all of this went down in early December. I have been able to stick to my HM training this week, even after a few weeks of half-assing it. I have no idea how I ran 6 miles yesterday without dying. And I'm running a 15K on Saturday. Yikes.
Oh, and I ate so much crap over the holidays, it's not even funny. And it's not even NYE/Bowl Game season yet!!!!!

I really wanted to go running today with my new garmin but its snowing and the roads are a mess. I'm really sad, clearly I enjoy running now though if I'm missing it.
I am finally starting to feel better thank god! Gonna try my hardest to get out and do a run this weekend and I won't even care if there is a lot of walking thrown in there. Three weeks till rock n roll AZ and I hate to say it but I dont think it is feasible since I have been inactive for the last 7 weeks. But there is 8 weeks till IMS in February and if I can get my butt in gear now I should be fine to do that one

Did she take an aspirin? My mom fell down the stairs, broke her foot, no one gave her/told her to take aspirin, and she ended up with countless blood clots in her shin. Like her whole shin was a blood clot - no bueno.

This was me too. I missed out on all the Christmas goodies this year but I guess at least I didn't stuff myself like I would have otherwise...
No other fun stories. It was a pretty low key Christmas this year.
Yep, me too. Nausea set in late in the afternoon on Christmas Eve and I am still battling it today. No Christmas binging so I guess that is good.

Oh booo! I feel her pain!
I went back today after 6 weeks in the boot only to find out I am "progressing normally" with it only 80% healed and have another month in the boot/sturdy shoes. Went on a superfun shoe shopping trip tonight to get some super sexy nursing shoes so maybe I can start to drive myself around some. On a positive note I am cleared to swim and ride the stationary bike and elliptical while wearing super sexy black leather nursing shoes. Anybody have any great pool running routines?

Never heard of this! What symptoms of the blood clot in her shin did she have and how is it treated? (I ask bc I fractured my shin and it's never seemed to completely heal!)

Sent from my SCH-I535 using proboards
Her foot was really purple afterwards. Multiple doctors saw it and said it was just bruised and really swollen, but she worked in a doctor's office at the time and when the doctor she worked for saw it a few days later, he sent her off for an ultrasound immediately, and he was absolutely right.

Ugh that sucks! Did she fall or did it just spontaneously fracture?

We are in Maine visiting my sister for Christmas and I broke my finger on Christmas Eve sledding. I'm going to say it was worth it since I've never been sledding before and it was incredibly fun! I've also helped prepared a full Christmas meal with my broken finger. That wasn't so much fun. But the food was amazing.

That's horrible :-( I hope she's on the mend and not in too much pain.
This scares me- I roll my ankles a lot, sometimes over nothing....ugh.
She had broken this area before when she tripped going down the stairs. Apparently, it's easy to break again once you've broken it before.
I'm so sorry! That's kind of scary considering I do that all the time.
My random - My mom got me this for Christmas and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'll test it tomorrow, but it's a thermal running skirt to wear over tights so your ass stays warm. She swears by it.

I'm curious what you think of it- my butt does get cold this time of year, which is why I like my longer Target pullover to somewhat cover, but this thing looks toasty!
