Here's where I bitch & whine. My half this weekend, the one that I was really hoping would be a confidence boost for my marathon, the one that caused me to taper a bit this week/neglect training so that I could do well, the one that just TWO days ago had a high of 64* and humidity at 50%, now has this as a forecast:
Sun
Dec 29
T-Storms High 75°
Humidity 93% T-Storms
CHANCE OF RAIN:
90%
WIND:
SW at 13 mph
What.the.fuck? I should have just done all of my runs this week and ran the race as a long run. Since my half PR two months ago was done in the upper 40s with no humidity, I don't see how a PR is possible. I basically slacked on my training this week for no reason at all. Whomp, whomp.
I'm actually really surprised at the high for that day. The one year I ran it, it was brutally cold and I spent most of the race trying to warm up. I toyed with the idea of running it this year for shits & giggles, but now I'm glad I didn't sign up because that weather sounds miserable.

You 're right, it's usually pretty cold, & for some reason, there's almost always a little rain. Freakin FL, man.
The gorgeous weather that was supposed to be on Sunday, has now moved to Monday. I'm still holding out a small hope that it will change enough to not be pouring. At least I only have a half. One of my friends from Tallahassee is running it as her first marathon. Poor thing.

Yuck. The weather above makes me so cranky and it sucks to run in. Good luck!!! You'll do great!

Ugh that sucks. A friend from Atlanta is coming down and was hoping for a marathon PR
clseale - I'm sorry But, when you crush this, even if it's not quite what you want, you can be pleased that you did well in awful conditions. Control what you can control. Go get it, girl!
Thanks, everyone! I'm just glad I'm only running the half. We'll make the best of it. I'm going to hug my training partner when I see her tomorrow. She's the one who found the Celebration race. If she hadn't, there's' a good chance I'd be signed up for the full tomorrow. Whatever Celebration throws at me, it can't be worse than 75* & thunderstorms. Lol
emuni04, I hope the rain held off until after your 15k this morning! We can share soggy race reports.
I'm running a half in FL in 2 weeks, and I'm a little nervous about the weather, since I'm coming from a much colder climate. I'd love it to be in the high 40s or low 50s. No humidity!!!! If it's a freak warm day, I'm going to melt.

Well, it didn't, and the race ended up being postponed until the next week or so! It's just a small, local race. But man, I was all geared up! I managed to sneak an 8 miler in on Sunday, though
I hope the weather wasn't too gross and you were able to get a good run in!!!

I'm glad they were able to reschedule & didn't just have to cancel it! You'll do great when you finally get to run.
They would have had to cancel our race entirely. The announcer at the start said something along the lines of, "It's not raining at the moment, so we'll start as planned, but the storms are on their way. They'll be here soon. When you're out there, you'll have to decide for yourself whether you quit or continue. If it brings lightening, we suggest you take cover, but it's your call. How badly do you want Boston? How badly do you want that age group win? We don't encourage you to run through it, but once you're on the course, you're on your own." LOL!! We're a very matter of fact running community.
